Talking Re installing the OEM rear emblem on GD

Hi guys, so I'm putting the OEM rear emblem back on my GD(Red one got jacked). I remember when I first removed the OEM rear emblem, the pegs broke and I heard something fall in the hatch. So how can I re install the rear emblem without those clips on the inside of the hatch? Do I need to remove the hatch liner and find them? 3m tape will look ugly for the stock emblem. Thanks! =]

If the pegs broke, then I would put the emblem back on with silicone.
You could also get some Thin 3m double sided tape.
Or a new emblem with the clips costs about $13.

The stock emblem actually has a dip on the back side of it (the sides of the H) and if you were to install using the REAL 3M RED double sided tape, cut it so it fits in the center sections (which are domed inwards). Once you do that, the 3m tape will sit flush with the plastic and you will not see lifted edges or anything. I've insatlled mine back like this and it looks perfect. No need to remove the hatch panel.

Or just do what fit2bking says and get a new one. You could silicone it on, but just remember it won't come off and you have to be extra careful not to get it seeping out when you press on it.

Yeah I actually bought a new one. It has the pegs, but I think there might have been some other clips that go on the pegs from inside the hatch, that holds them on? Because the pegs go in the hole, but the holes in the hatch big and the emblem can move around. I will try the silicone thing.

Cool, thanks. I will also try some thinner 3m tape. Whichever method seems more convenient for me. Btw, I saw you a few weeks back kev. First time that I've seen your car in person. I think you were on brand blvd, where portos bakery, and all those restraunts are. I'm not too familiar with the area, but my gf lives in glendale, so I'm over there every weekend. I wasn't driving, but if I was I would have said Hi. haha
