Who wants to be the first with independant fogs? I have access to the ETM.

I can get the diagrams to do this, but I don't have the time to play around. What I am looking to do is provide the wiring diagrams to as many individuals that want them so they can collaborate and make a tutorial.
PM me if you're interested.

I did that to my 2 maxima's and do a lot of sophisticated wiring of machinery for work. But crap, going to be too busy getting ready for christmas and snowmobile season.

Decide how ya want em to work. "Semi-independent" is a lot better, trust me!
I liked having the fogs able to come on if the parking lights and taillights are on regardless of headlights on or off, hi or low beam.
Just to be able to turn them on and off regardless of any other light being on or off might just make it one more opportunity to forget about them being on and coming out from the mall to find a dead battery.
plus with the word "fog" being key, no way do you want to be able to use those without the tail lights being on. And the part we dont like about stock, if you think about it, is they are tied into the headlighs and low beams. That is the issue that needs to be corrected.

I had spot lights fitted about a month ago and told the technician to wire them up independently with their own switch, 2 hours later finished with no problems.
They look like this, but clear http://www.cmn-auto.com/product.deta...824_th_1637261#

Anyone been a pioneer and tried to steps from the GD tutorial in their GE? All you have to do is find the power wire that leads into the fog switch, snip it and wire it up to something constant, in the GDs we just run it to the fuse box so that it turns off if the ignition is off.
Well, I don't know about the 08's and previous, but the 09's use a MICU and it's throwing me for a loop. I haven't been able to find much regarding how it works in respect to the fogs other than:
R21•M33
GRN•BLK
Fog light switch ON
Measure the voltage between terminals R21 and M33: There should be less than 0.1 V.
Measure the voltage between terminals R21 and M33: There should be about 5 V or more.
LT BLU
Under all condition
Connect the terminal R20 and body ground: The fog lights should come on.
The last one is a bit interesting...

- Faulty combination light switch

I was hoping that the GE mod would be as simple as the GD, hopefully by the time my car arrives there will be a DIY on the GE8 because I'd like to be able to control the fogs independantly.
