Talking An early Christmas present from Helm Inc...

Guess what came in the mail late in the evening on Christmas Eve?

The 2009 Honda Fit GE8 Service Manual! (Initially supposed to be released in March 2009... Whaaa? )

Go grab it! I'm so glad I finally have it as reference and feel much more confident modifying stuff now that it's here!

Merry Christmas, all!

Cheers,

Baz

Baz-----Thank you very much for the "heads up". If the Helm web site is functioning properly today (Christmas Day) I will place my order on line.

EDIT:
The site was working, and my order will ship on Monday. For other interested parties, the price is $125.00. They charge sales tax for shipments going to CA, GA, and MI.

Tell me about it. I just about cried when I compulsively checked the Helm Inc. page for the 175th time and saw that the manual was shipping. It arrived in like a day, too... and on Christmas Eve. Pretty damn sweet timing.

Anyway, FYI... this thing weighs exactly 6 pounds and is almost 3" thick!

The diagrams are fantastic, equal to or better than Honda's install instructions for dealer installed accessories (downloadable from College Hills). IMHO, $125 is a steal for all this compared to the $400+ that many service manuals cost.

I don't wanna piss off Honda by posting pages up here, but if anyone needs something super-specific from it, let me know and I'll see what I can do...

Take it easy,

Baz

Hey Baz-
This thing require a secret handshake or something? Just went on Helm's website, and continued to get the 'nonexistent item' thing when I searched.
Am I missing something?
Thnx,
Moon

Is there an AWD section in that manual?

Is there an AWD section in that manual? Sure would be nice if there is, even if AWD (All Wheel Drive) Honda Fit is not (yet??) available in the USA and Canada.

Just curious.

Appealing as the concept may be (and I love AWD/FWD; our house is full of Jeeps and an AWD Passat), driving thru' all four seems to inevitably send the mileage to the pooper. Witness that Suzuki AWD which is otherwise Fit-sized.
Be interested to see if the FSM has any mention of the AWD version; my Jeep manuals show some things not available here, like easy-adjust headlights and heated mirrors.

VSA! VSA! Can you add it if not OEM equipped?

EDIT: What does it take to add it if not factory equipped?

I'll lay off a bet that you'll pay every bit of the $2 K navi premium in parts, tho' I'd like to be wrong.

This is awesome, I just placed my order... In the meantime, wondering if someone might be able to help with a small request.

I'm doing an alarm install on my 09 MT Sport this weekend, I'm looking for [-] a wire that I can tap for the trunk trigger, and don't want to run a wire all the way to the back to tap the trunk / cargo light. I also don't want to install a pin switch back there.

Hopefully that cargo light wire comes back to a plug somewhere in the kick panel - I just need a wire that has a negative input when that cargo light comes on (when the trunk is opened).

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm doing a write-up on the install, with pictures for the site, so you'd be helping everyone!!

So, went to order one of these bad boys and noticed there's no ETM listed separately. I assume that all of the wiring diagrams and troubleshooting flowcharts are inclusive to the service manual?
