TPMS light DID NOT come on after winter-tire swap

I had my winter tires by this local shop, im 100% positive that they did not install TPMS sensors on my winter wheels (didn't want to pay $300 extra for them). However I don't get any TPMS lights coming on with my winter tires/wheels on. Whats the cause of this?

Canadian cars don't have TPMS.

Like I said, don't wish for it, be glad you don't have it. Mine has already gone off twice for no reason.

If I could disable it entirely, I would be out in the parking lot right now doing it.

If you check the owner's manual, it states that the TPMS is for US models only.

I am kind of ambivalent about the system. On the one hand, it is just one more thing that could fail, and it makes changing wheels a much bigger hassle.

On the other hand, it could save you from a nasty surprise. My M5 has a low tire pressure warning system, but does not use sensors in the wheels. It compares the wheel revolution, and if one of the wheels is turning faster than the others, it concludes that the tire pressure is low and notifies you. A much more crude method than actual tire pressure sensors, but it did catch a slow leak that I had once. Picked up a nail in a tire, couldn't hear it and didn't deflate that quickly. When the warning occurred, tire pressure was down in the 20's, so it saved me from having a completely flat tire.
