I went to the honda dealer this past week and checked out the hatch on the new fits, the light is awkward where they mounted it... none the less, first time I saw an 09 and I fit better on the 07-08 than the 09...

If you have ever seen a GD you will notice that the light is
angled.
On the GE's the light is not angled and faces down.

This is why I did what I did.

sorry i don't have any good pics of this. this is the best one i have.
cut it all down to about 1/2 inch

now i cut 2 slots and slid the led under. then as for the other side
i screwed it down. use a very small screw and make sure you pre-drill.
should look like this.

now it's all done. finished product should look like this.

now just so you know the plug you keep seeing at the end of the led is
not going to be used. I cut it and spliced a wire about 3 to 4 feet long
to it.
now run the wire to your cargo light.
I'd have used a hot glue gun everywhere it's possible (to hold old light cover and the led board on place). Could be more reliable and solid than one small screw.

It is brighter, but load it with groceries and the bags will block it.

I still don't regret it. I can see what to grab when i am unloading groceries the once in a while I do go shopping with the Fit.

Now I just need a quality HID KIt You know who you are...

Guys, I just had niko do this install on my car while I was detailing his car. You HAVE to go ahead and do this. It is soooo bright. Lights up the entire hatch area in an even cool white led color. Its a night and day difference. About 4 times brighter than the picture above. Plus no matter what you put in it, it wont matter because the light is coming from overhead.

Thanks bro. Glad you like your LED setup.

as for everyone else this is a DIY thread.

If OneStopCustoms wants to sell his LEDS he needs to
start another thread himself. Sorry but I'm not hating
or anything.
just people are getting really confused.

also just so everyone knows yes his lights are bright.
but you have to remember. the GE8 light points down ward
unlike the light pictured on the GD3 witch points at an angle.

Just a little FYI
cause it might not be as bright as you want it to be.

Not sure if it has been asked yet. Does it work for 2009 Fit Sport? The website only lists 2007-2008.

I just installed the shelf cargo cover. The cover will render the over head install ineffective. If I can get my hands on the OneStopCustoms light, I might add some kind of reflector under the light to help project the light into the cargo area.

i have the cargo cover too. i have seen someone installed LED strips on the under side of the cargo cover so the whole trunk area is lit. the only thing is i need such light to be able to disconnect easily should i remove the cover alltogether.

Great idea! I saw a bunch of different kinds of led strips at Pepboys yesterday. Also in Autozone. I see possibilities..........
