will the one stop customs LED insert work for this light the same as the stock Honda Fit? Switch is a good Idea but if i had to chose between a crappy light with a switch and an LED that works well, Id go LED. Anyone tried this?

Why don't you do both?

Just checked with my local Honda Dealership and this item is only available ex-Japan and will take 2-3 weeks for delivery with a NZ$35 price tag. Due to this, I'll be doing a very simple 1.5W festoon LED replacement and will share before/after pics when I'm done.

sorry i don't have any good pics of this. this is the best one i have.
cut it all down to about 1/2 inch

now i cut 2 slots and slid the led under. then as for the other side
i screwed it down. use a very small screw and make sure you pre-drill.
should look like this.

now it's all done. finished product should look like this.

now just so you know the plug you keep seeing at the end of the led is
not going to be used. I cut it and spliced a wire about 3 to 4 feet long
to it.
now run the wire to your cargo light.

niko you did a really great job there, i was looking for a solution on the light issue and i found it here! i will try to do it but first i have a question. where did you find the clear plastic cover for the light?

thank you very much for the quick response!

i'm gonna ask them tomorrow and i am pretty sure that the answer for a part that they don't have in stock will be like €40-50 or something which is not worth it..

Niko I never let you know this but I admire the DIY spirit. Without it, we would all just be a bunch of hellaflush bolt on clones.

Thanks man. Much appreciated.

I also like what you do also. The light mod in the a/c
vents is really nice. +rep to you sir

Also look out. I will be doing another DIY soon. In detail
like usual.

Just ordered one. I take a wood shop class after work and haul materials in the Fit. While the class starts before sundown, it ends after sundown and I noticed my cargo light was on for the full three hour class. This will help.

i have a problem with the cargo light but i asked Honda dealers for the centre armrest, and it will cost €380 + installation. so i suppose that cargo light might be like 50 or something. hell no!

the problem with the cargo light is that there is no light in the first place, so i think that there is no electricity to fix this DYI. you can check the photos if you like and tell me your opinion.

You're looking in the wrong place for electrical, but either way it wouldn't be hard to wire in. You'd need a constant 12v source from the fuse panel and you can ground it about anywhere...
