double trunk

My first post, hi to all!

Some markets get an additional parcel shelf that can be erected to more or less double the surface area in the trunk. Can anyone come up with a part number, something I can order from Honda Canada,,,or perhaps a cheaper aftermarket alternative? Apologies if it is offered, I have searched for it, but cannot find. After briefly considering contacting Honda-Can, I realized it was probably a great way to get absolutely nowhere.

So anyone??? I can't believe it isn't offered in all markets, they would make a bundle.

thanks for the quick reply. nope. that is simply a cargo cover, if u google double trunk u will see a load bearing shelf that rests further down, so that the seat backs can provide some stability for parcels. all fits seem to come with grooves to allow the shelf, its more about part numbers and if North America will bother to stock the part or a reasonable facsimile.

@wpyeo,

ok, that's the first time i have read that term, but it sounds about right. can u provide me with a part number, or the url for a place that can sell me one?

ah, having written this, i see u are in Singapore--12 hour time difference from toronto, makes sense. I have a friend out your way, one day I will come visit (en route to Thailand, no doubt).

I suppose you can have something like that because you guys don't have the spare tire...or do you?

Is this what you mean? It is for the 07 and 08 (and earlier I would assume), but the part number for this one is 08U20-SAA-000.

no, i have a manual, and a spare. I don't care about an additional dimple of space under the main floor. the parcel shelf would work fine without that bit of space, especially for groceries, and the like.

is this the item you are looking for?

anyway, i think the correct term for it should be Ultra-luggage board (some something like it).
it is availiable for JDM L and RS model of the GE FIT. will see if im able to obtain the part#..

Exclamation

In order to use this part on the North American market GE8... you will need to replace a bunch of parts....to around the total of $780~$830..... With the way the Yen rate is right now...the floor piece alone is almos $300 and some change.. the sides for the rear need to be changed out as well along with other nickle and dime sh!t..

Thanks JDM_DOHC_SiR,

It's definitely needlessly complex, costly and labour intensive.

If anyone hears of an aftermarket shelf that simply mimics the function of the shelf in the CRV, let me know.

$800 pays for a lot of squashed groceries!

how about a nylon net attached to the existing hooks so it can form a "shelf" similar to the OEM shelf? that would cost very little.
