I just recieved my Honda cargo tray for '12 Fit. Upon installing it i noticed two retarded issues. The tray did not come with the tailgate Clips. Who exactly is supposed to supply me with these clips ?
Secondly, there is like a 3 inch gap between the back seat and tray, which means someone can peer in that big crack and basically peek into your trunk. HOW the heck can honda build a tray so retarded and is there anything i can do to cover this gap, short of building my own mini cover ?

fujisawa - Haven't had reason to reclined the back seat yet..so are you suggesting I can recline to third position in order to cover the gap ?

There's a flap that you snap into the seat backs to cover that gap.



Edit: Only 2009-2011 cargo covers (08U35-TK6-100) had the flap. 2012-13 covers (08U35-TK6-111) did not have this flap. You should ask for a 2009-2011 cover.

 

WOW!!..how come no one is talking about this gap on a 2012 cover ?? Thanks for the tip..are we certain that a 2009-2011 cover will otherwise fit on a 2012 ? And will the snaps be included with the tray if I purchase it from a third party (Honda part but from third party) ?

I see...thanks for that info but is your FIT a 2010 ? Also did you buy it direct from Honda or third party ? I will attempt to return the one I bought but want to make certain an older tray will work for a 2012 FIT.

 

to be clear..what I mean is I want to make certain the overall dimentions for an older tray will match up to a 2012 FIT.

 

I got mine directly from Honda. From looking at both, the covers appear to be identical besides the flap. You may want to ask the dealer to confirm.
