What's The Mileage On Your GE8?

How many miles have you racked up on your GE8?

I bought my GE8 in October 2008.

Mileage: 8K miles

That sounds about right. I was at 50% oil life too around 5K. I changed the oil at 6K.

it just seems weird to me. the cars i've owned were alway changed at 3k. so changing it wayyyyyyy later then usual cars is a bit scary.

Well usually for brand new cars, you should wait a little longer before you do your first oil change. The engine has a special break-in oil right now. So that's why you should wait a little longer than 3K miles.

Lol dont worry..its fine. Specially on the first change your supposed to wait it out because I hear honda puts in an extra additive for the first cycle.

Are you guys sure we not soppose to change the engine oil sooner than 3 k for the first oil change?
Where are you guys getting this information from?
I work at a HONDA Dealership, and a lot of the mechanics are telling me to change it at 3k and to dont buy into the 5k oil change shiet.......

I thought the wife had a few miles on hers but I guess not. Around 5,900 and we bought ours day of release. Almost 2,000 of those miles or so are from vacation.

The maintenance is there for a reason. Would Honda say change it at 3?

People who design/made car > average joe Honda mechanic
