another PRM review
finally picked up the kit today and installed it, like others have mentioned PRM is definitely quality stuff. I had a shop to put it on cuz its too cold outside and i didn't want to spend time fiddling with it on my driveway.
The shop owner was like "wow i haven't seen a PRM kit in the longest time" he was an old timer and he was talking about how PRM used to make one of the best intakes ever. better than AEM, INJEN and other common brands.
Installation did not take long. All the necessary hardware was included. The sound is amazing. It's not noticeable when you keep the rpms low. But when you hit 3500 rpm and above it roars. THe engine spun to redline faster and there was noticeable midrange improvement.
All in all I think this kit was well worth the money. Gerry was awesome to deal with. I will recommend PRM to others without hesitation. I can't wait till the blitz throttle controller comes out for the GE8. That will be the next performance mod on the list.

Has a date been set for the release of the PRM A/T intake yet?
#6
The release date for the production model intakes for the '09 A/T Fit will be set after I test the prototype. I have know Gerry and his products for some time now, and I am certain that the prototype will work perfectly. So availability of the production models will be almost immediate (IMO). The only thing up in the air might be minor mounting hardware issues, but the new system is simple and uncomplicated.

No- not yet. But in five years, to be ready for a smog check, it will take about one minute to remove the PRM system, and maybe 10 minutes to reinstall the stock air box. I would hope by that time Gerry will have a CARB Exempt sticker for his intakes, but I won't care either way.

Sounds delicious. How have I never heard of these before. I suppose with the shape the sound is a little more pronounced?
We are talking about something like this right?

negative, it looks more like this:
the 07-08 kit seems more like a short ram intake.
the 09 kit has longer piping (2 sections actually) and it runs all the way down near the bottom of the engine compartment. but the filter head itself looks pretty much the same. Mine's black I'll try to update with pics when i have a day off from work. It's really really tight fit in there though.
