New 09 Storm Silver Sport

Hi all,

I posted this on the general forum but was informed that I might want to post on here as I am a GE owner.

I just bought it over two weeks ago. I went looking at CR-V's after an 02 Pathfinder LE's steering column started smoking after 142K miles this past New Years Day.

Didn't even want to look at a Fit, (honestly didn't know what they were). I was dead set on a CR-V. Anyway I test drove a used 09 Fit Sport at the insistence of my friend who thought they were a great car. During and after the test drive I realized that I like the Fit better. The dealership took my non running Pathfinder as a trade-in and less than a week later I bought the brand new Fit Sport mentioned in the thread title.

I do LOVE this car. I never expected to be so taken by a vehicle. It just has a bunch of qualities I dig, primarily, looks, sportiness, practicality, and economy. FYI I have filled it about four times and I still haven't spent the max I paid for one fill-up on the Pathfinder last summer that cost about $70+/- a dollar. Like I said I LOVE the FIT.

So couple of questions, I'm thinking about the following mods:

Bumper Applique
Wheel Locks
AT Racing Pedals
Tinting

Anything else? I like the carpet just fine so I'm having a hard time with the cargo tray and the all season mats. I'm interested in the body side molding for the doors but I'm not sure they'll mess up the "lines" of the car. What about the interior lighting? Also another friend of mine suggested replacement lamps for the headlights. Any ideas about this?

Does anyone make a metal "Sport" logo that could be applied under the Fit logo?

Lastly though I understand that 117hp is an improvement for 09, what is out there for under the hood that might give a little more boost to HP without wrecking my 31+mpg too much? I'm really not a car guy so please be gentle with the jargon. Thanks.

Thanks for any of your input. I'm glad I found this sight. I'll try to post pics later. Thanks again.

Best,

Dave

Hey, welcome aboard!
The fit s surprised you huh?

Here is what some other guys are doing/have done
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...e-your-ge.html

Honda has the engines well tuned so the only huge gains are forced induction.

Like 2-6 HP each with intake and exhaust, but your car will be louder.
I am going with an Unorthodox lightweight crank pulley as first engine mod.

Your list is fine
although I like the fold down a little better than the bumper applique

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it took me buy surprise a little. I really didn't expect it to grow on me as much as it did. It's just a cool little car! I was looking at a Scion XD at the same time. The Scion feeling more cramped, plus the salesmans "sketchiness," and the fact they couldn't do anything for me as far as a trade-in with the Nissan, helped push me back to the Honda dealership rapidly. Most importantly as I said the Fit is just a cool little car. It ROCKS! Judging by it's popularity, I might find myself, for the first time in my life, on the side of something cutting edge.

Best,

Dave
