agreed

I agree "you get what you paid for." I got an 09 Fit a month ago and the inside door handle frame came off...the screw just popped out somehow and it was dangling... sigh

"...applying epoxy adds weight, not strength."

...somethin i heard over and over again from the old bones in the RC Airplane world.

Did they replace it with the same factory pieces or is there a revised, stronger design?

If it's the same, won't it break again?

I'll try to remember not to lean on mine, though that hasn't happened to me yet after EXACTLY a year of ownership. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY FIT!!!)

ok, thanks for sharing.

...point being, applying epoxy to the back-end of something isn't exactly gonna make it tougher.

I had weather strip problem on the driver side rear door. I took it back to the dealer 3 times before I got it fix. The dealer changed the entire window chanel on first visit but did not fix the problem. Thesecond time got the bad replacement part. The third time is good, so far.

He seems to have missed the point that when he heard that tidbit of wisdom it was in reference to small objects that need to take flight. Weight is hardly an issue for this application so it would be fine. Somehow he interpreted that advice to mean "epoxy won't hold shit" rather than "it's too heavy for this application so use something else".

I cracked my left drivers armrest in the same spot. I was digging for change in my right pocket and my left elbow was pressing down on the arm rest and I felt it give way. I hope this is covered. The plastic does seem kind of flimsy in this location.

Oh man! This is not what I want to hear. I depend on that to get me out of the car, or into the car, when my back is especially bad.

Should I just bolt on some disabled hand rails now and save myself the trouble of some part of the car caving in?

Put some on the outside, some on the inside, of all the doors and along the side.

Handy if I have a gymnast passenger too. They can work on their parallel bar routine with the doors open.

I've read through some serious amounts of posts before deciding on a Fit purchase. I don't recall anyone mentioning anything about armrest recalls!

I think you'll be safe. Although, the "disabled hand rails" sounds like one heck of a cool mod, baby! Be the first on your block and FitFreak forums...

... I'll bet no one's ever done that mod!!!
Certainly would eliminate door ding potential. Heh.
