CrutchField Speaker Adaptor Ring

Has anyone ordered speakers from Crutchfiled? Does the free speaker adaptor ring fits our GE? Any holes need to be drilled on the door to mount the adaptor?

I found another type on ebay:

eBay Motors: 6½" Speaker Adapters Honda Fit 07-09 Front & Rear (item 310114974210 end time Mar-12-09 10:32:46 PDT)

It says no drilling is required. Anyone tried that?

the 09s have one bolt and a tab that slides in. you have to drill unless you can make a bracket... but that just seems like a waste of time. i just used 4 self tapping screws and it worked great

I cut the sheetmetal into a circle and drilled holes. Wasn't too tough. Clearance can be a problem though for the windows to come down if you have a deep speaker. However a 1" spacer is too big for some speaker and will cause them to hit the door panel. Best bet if you don't want to cut is a 1/2" spacer and drill it into the door.
