My advice is buy the OEM switchblade key & cover online, then call the closest ~20-30 dealerships to you to see if they will cut the key and how much, eventually you'll find a good dealer. I got my key cut & transponder programmed for $49.99+ tax. Dealers have the equipment to laser cut keys. The issue is more about how much they charge or if they're willing to cut a blank you got from somewhere else.

Thanks for posting the pics! I have been thinking about doing a switchblade mod except with my autostart circuit board inside, however I'm a long ways away (engineer- and free time-wise) from even trying to figure out a way to make a big bulky key like this.

Got this done for my 2012 today.
