Rear Washer Spray Intensity?

I hadn't really run the rear washer on my 2009 until today. It appeared to get enough water on the rear window to wet it down, but it seemed more to drool down than really spray like the front does. It appears from the diagram that there is only one pump and resevoir (in the front of the car) that feeds the front and the rear washer. If this is the case it would make sense that the pressure is reduced all the way in the back. What's your rear washer like?

That's exactly how I would describe my rear washer performance... Cool diagram btw...I need to explore that site.

Mine works just fine. Have you refilled your tank? If you did, could there have been impurities in what you refilled it with? My limited understanding of hydraulics says that the pressure would not drop much, if any, unless there is a soft line carrying the fluid which would be expanding to absorb some of the pressure.

I'd check the line/nozzle for debris.

Just a guess.

Cheers

I would assume drooling would be the design. It uses gravity as it points down... If it had pressure, it might shoot most of it off the window.

Thanks for all the responses! I just wanted to make sure I'm not the only one who drools.

Yes it's supposed to only drool. My RSX also drooled as did my Civic Hatchback.

Drooling here. If it sprayed, I would think it would get sucked/blown away from the rear window and be totally useless.

Yep it's the same patented drooling action on the GDs. Hahaha!

Ever since I had my rear hatch replaced after a collision two years ago, I've had this two-second delay between my initial twisting of the wiper stalk and actually getting any "drool" back there. FYI

This happens regardless of how much washer fluid is in the reservoir, so I'm guessing something to do with the drool lines going to the rear. No biggie.

Mine spurts outta there like... well... It spurts! Sometimes I get the impression the spray misses the windshield totally it's so strong, I might try and check it and fiddle with is sometime.
