Went shopping to carpet back of my Marshmallow like Michael Belshaw did and documented, with a 4x6 rubber backed indoor/outdoor carpet from Home Depot.

Went to Harbor Freight first, and they had really good price on brass grommets, so I splurged $4 and got them for the install, hoping they were the right size. (I suspected they'd be too small, but were so much cheaper than Michael's Craft Store will be that I gambled.)

Couldn't find the right carpet...HD had indoor outdoor but not rubber backed, so it won't prevent spills going right through to the stock interior (in other words, about useless.)...plus it was 6'x8', not 4x6...too unwieldy for me to easily handle.

Came home, looked up Michael's excellent detailed posting:

Honda Fit – Liner Mod « Michael Belshaw's Site

Oh, the post was apparently from a few years ago, and he was in Canada while I'm in CA. No wonder HD doesn't have the carpet he found then. I'll try Lowes in the morning.

And the HF grommets are too small, I lost the gamble and need 7/8"per Michael's write-up.

But I had fun driving the Fit around , having multiple folks ask me about the (fake) Japanese "F IT" plate on the back til DMV sends me real ones. (and none of those questioning were cops...I DO have the proper temp paperwork taped to my window, so I'm legal even with the plate-that-isn't-really-a-plate on the back.)

Vacuumed all the cheetos my son left on the floor and on the seats. Wiped the window were he likes to put his little finger prints all over. Wiped all the interior were he waived his otter-pop around! Also I found a few scratches that were put on by the grounds keepers at my wife's job! (Grass was all over the car and I had just washed it a few hours ago)

Yuk. Teach them not to eat or drink in the car, not to touch the glass, not to kick the seats, not to step on the sills.

They can do it.

J's Racing is sending me a NEW J's GT wing for FREE... yep, that's $0 cost!

The story behind this... my wing has taken damage (cracked a seam) from the NJ/NY trip. And I get to keep the old wing... so now, I'll have 2 GT wings... what to do?

Lesson: when you go LEGIT... you get LEGIT service!

I sat in that car at SEMA. A scion rep then came over and yelled for sitting in the car. I replied "so why was the door unlocked?"
