Interior Teaser Pics **Completed Photo's on pg.2**

So I decided that my interior was just to light for my liking. So I started darkening up the interior with some Duplicolor vinyl/fabric paint (gloss black). It’ll take me through the weekend to find the time to finish it all up. I think that I’m just going lay down all the seats and tarp and tape off everything on the lower section instead of taking it all apart but we'll see what i've got the time for

Only the little piece was painted, I used it as my test piece (the dash had meguiar's Supreme Shine on it)

Here's a couple of pics to show how close that color matches

I've only completed the 2 "A" Pillars so far but its already starting to darken up the interior

And just in case anyone was wondering I had also tried the Duplicolor charcoal first but decided I liked the gloss black instead

make sure you sand them down thoroughly so the paint would not chip and allow extra drying time. I did this as well in my current car and learned the hard way.

looks great though, i'll be waiting for the finish product.

Thanks for the heads up I didn't sand them cause I wanted to keep the texture of the pieces

But I did clean and wipe down panels before painting so we'll see how it comes out

Thanks

No prob, That's why we're all here. Its also why I showed the pic with the piece painted charcoal.

Biggest overall thing I could do until a have the money for leather (seats) and and maybe suede for the headliner. To go with the J's racing steering wheel (suede insert) of course. Well I can always dream

Anyways thanks and good luck

From my understanding of the original post, he's not taking out the plastics but just taping/tarping everything and painting inside the car. VERY brave if you ask me!

Good luck! The teaser shot of the A-pillar looks really good!

I did actually pull the pillars, being eye to eye with the curtain airbags is a little scary!! Buy the upper part of the a pillar is held on 3 clips 2 of the clips are exactly like the ones that hold your door panel on. the 3rd which is the one closest to the top is some funky two piece clip (part metal and plastic) you can see it if you pull the top back a little. I ended up having to bend the pillar piece until it came loose. Probally not the right way but I didn't break anything so it works for me. The bottom piece is just laying on the dash and is only attached to the upper piece. I found leaving it attached to the upper piece easier.

Armorall by newbs on the interiors? (btw, NEVER

The first pic shows it matched up with my dash after the dash was cleaned with meguires. But yes the gloss black is shiny that's why in the last pic you can see I tried it with a non-gloss charcoal which looked good also. But I figured once I get some tint this would offer me the darkest interior I could get

What are you doing about the B-pillar seatbelt area? Will you take the assembly apart and paint each piece individually?

Yea I've been thinking of spraying my upper half in the gd to match the lower half instead of having lower black/grey top being tan. sort of annoys me at night lol.
