Quick update;

I was able to pull off the "C" pillar and "B" pillar plastics. They were a lot easier then I originally thought they would be, but i'll post up some pics by this weekend.

Thanks

I was actually thinking bout doing this also but painting portions of the gray areas the same color as the exterior which is black berry pearl. Has anyone known a manufacture offering this same color as an arisol spray?
I can go to a local paint shop with the paint code but I do not know much about painting and was wondering about the paint adhering properly to interior pieces.

Also did you prime your interior parts first or just clean and spray?

I used a thing called adhesion promoter by duplicolor when I painted my headlights. Its an aerosol. Maybe using that will help the paint adhere a little better instead of having to sand it and lose the texture.

So what good would posting to a forum be if you didn't listen to some the good opinions other fitfreak members have.

So I decided to remove everything before painting. lol

Let me tell you the sun visors I never want to have to take off again!!!!!
don't ask, someone else will have to explain how to get them off i'm sure I didn't do it the right way.

Also the "O-Sh**" handles are a little difficult to get off but after I broke the first clip and looked at how they were held the rest came out pretty easy.

heres a sneak peak at the headliner sorry for the crappy pic i'll take better ones this weekend when I finish up

The headliner took 2 cans of the duplicolor vinyl/fabric gloss black and will need one more can to even everything out. I threw it back in the car to see how it looked and I really like it. It looks more matte then gloss and almost like a suede.

Everything else was easy, I'll post up a some pics of the "B" and "C" pilllars and how to get to the bolts. And what the "O Sh**" retainer clips look like

Anyways thanks to everyone and i'll update this weekend when I finish up

i'd rep you but i'm all out for the day! it takes a lot of manhood to rip apart the interior of your brand new car like that. i've been wanting to wrap my headliner for the longest time, i would have never thought about spray painting it

Hey thanks a lot. When I get the money I will suede the headliner but for now this is the best I come up with. The toughest part is I had never dealt with the Side Curtain Airbags when ripping a car apart as long as I don't blow one everythings all good

Hey man, looks good! Just so you know, your car is going to smell like that stuff for YEARS. Looks great though, and you should be fine not sanding anything because its not paint, it penetrates the surface.

Guys, the stuff this guy is using is a spray dye. It's not paint. This stuff embeds its self into the plastic. It has an integrated adhesion promotor as well. Primer would probably be a bad idea. Just clean the surface well and spray away. Sanding unnecessary.

Updated photo's Interior all finished

I just wanted to thank everyone for their comments

Here it is all finished, sorry best pictures I could take with all the sun

Still need to clean some of the pieces i've got pollen and powdered glove prints from when I re-installed everything.

I taped off the airbag warnings on the visors to try and retain an "OE" look

So all I have left is a couple of touch-ups and to replace a couple of clips I broke while ripping everything apart. Everything was pretty easy except for the the sun visors wow they really sucked taking out and re-installing

The gloss black looks good and everything matches real well. To answer the flat black question, I think flat black would have looked good on the handles and maybe the visors but not sure how it would have looked on the pillars , might try it some day if I get bored. But for now I'm really happy with the way it all turned out. It really darkened up the interior real nice and should look great when I can get some tint

I did not prime any of the pieces just cleaned and wiped down before spraying. Also the headliner after the second day stopped having a "paint" smell and now everything just smells like meguiar's

Thanks again

Just painted on top let it dry then lifted and held when I sprayed under the strap, it was almost 90 degrees out when I painted so all the pieces would dry pretty quick

And I'll let everyone know how the paint holds up, the real test will be when I start driving the dogs around
