I was surfing the eBay looking for lights, as I do periodically just to see if anyone has released aftermarket products for the GE, and I came across a seller who is offering this:

eBay Motors: 08 09 Honda Jazz / Fit JDM smoke LED tail lights lamps (item 170323306760 end time Apr-29-09 17:04:49 PDT)

He advertises it as an 08-09 fit taillight, but as we know and can see from the images, it's obviously an 09 taillight and would not be compatible with the 08.

I don't know about anyone else, but I was going to try to tackle a smoking the taillight project in the next week or so. But, after finding these I think I might just purchase them. They're LED and already smoked. I have sent him an email asking if these are OEM smoked or purchased and smoked by him or whomever he is working with, as well as some other questions. He states he offers a discount to people who purchase more than one set. I just wanted to post this and get some feedback from other GE owners who might be interested if we can get this price down.

Post it up and let me know. I told him I was on this forum and there might be others interested in a group buy. Thanks

 

Nice find... there is also 3 other versions of this tail light too... all clear, all smoke, half smoked and normal..... the thing thats nice about these is that the fit really good!! and look like the JDM LED Tail... but with a lower LED section to match the upper LED one....

I saw this the other day, but I have heard that some of these aftermarket tails discoloring or yellowing over time or not being properly sealed... has anyone ever heard of the company, or heard these things?

 

I asked the guy if they were OEM smoked tails or OEM tails he was smoking and selling or if he was actually making the entire light to look OEM. Waiting to hear back. Either way I think I'm going to pick up a set instead of doing it myself. Otherwise, I was looking at the smoked clear Altezza taillight for our vehicles on eBay, but I'm really annoyed by the small red circle light in the bottom of that version, otherwise I think it looks good.

 

Anyone know if they are actually plug and play for the USDM GE8? If so I'd like to buy them!

These are plug and play on the USDM FIT.... and they are Made by DEPO ....

The guy wrote me back. He says he can take off $10 if you guy them outside of eBay (still using paypal as the funding source). he attached this link:

It shows shots of both lights front, back and lit up. It also shows aftermarket euro headlights (which are not compatible with US models because the front is different I'm guessing). I told him to give me a breakdown on a group buy, but all he came back with was "yes I can do a group buy". So I emailed him back and asked him to give me a 5 people, 10 people, etc. breakdown with prices.

To answer questions (JDM_DoHC_Sir might have answered a couple of these already), the wheels are aftermarket and they are plug and play for US vehicles. Hope this info helps and I'll post up when I hear back from him about a group buy.

LOL saw this like waaaay long time ago. Was thinking about it, but decided I'd rather just smoke my OEM's lightly and then do an LED conversion.

Also, I believe these are actual real deal ones from Japan. Now I personally and honestly don't know how this works, but I believe the seller is similar to Dave. If you read his location, its at an Air Force base in North Carolina. My guess is he was sent to Japan and then came back with the goodies???

But yeah, my $260 went to painting my wheels to advan bright chrome, mugen shift knob, mugen pedals, and painting my headlights light gunmetal and my taillights lightly smoked


I think I got more bang for my bucks hahahaha
