go with the narrower rim for lighter weight usually. But if you want the SLIGHTLY stretched look, then go with the wider width. IMO, i'll just stick with 17 by 7.

thats what i was thinking too.

another quick question, i've heard alot of talk on here that a +40 offset would not work if u want to lower it, is that true? (i'll probably run 205's with a 45 profile) the rims i'm looking at are 17x7 +42

my second option is a 17x7 +40

i'm also looking at a set of 17x7.5 +40's

would any of these fit properly if i throw a set of lowering springs on?

from what i heard, the 7 inch width with a +42 offset will work on a 205 tire. If you go +40 it might be cutting it awfully close. I want to know if the 40 offset will work because i have a set (but i haven't bought the GE yet). It works nicely on my echo. lol
so conclusion, 40 offset on 7.5 will definitely not work once lowered.
Your safest bet is to go with the 17 by 7 +42.

Free shipping only to the US, lol. that is a good deal and buddy club is better than motegi but the price is still steep, the motegi's i found are $135. also i want to try something different, like some 10 spokes.

oh and as for my bike rims, there's 2's on it right now, i have 3's on my full susp lol they're better for when i go back to the mountains

what are the exact motegi rims you want to buy. make sure to check out the weight. Some of the motegi rims weigh a ton.

Well, i went down to every tire shop in town and they all carry Motegi, but none of them can get that rim, let alone in that size. it's a special order apparently. but most of them said Enkei would be the way to go and they have them mostly in stock

i WAS looking at Motegi SP10

wheel offset is distance between the wheel centerline and the hub flange (where the wheel is mounted to the car)

the higher the number the closer to the engine the wheel would be, a +30 offset would be farther away from the engine and the wheels would usually stick out from the fenders depending on the car, and a +50 offset is the opposite, it makes the tire sit closer to the engine

offset also has a major effect on drivability too much offset and your car will be much harder to drive, and vice versa

pretty good explanation

I did a quick search, and the SP10 comes in at 16.8 pounds for 17 by 7. That is pretty light considering its casted. Good choice there. Just don't go with anything more than 18 or 19 pounds then you should be fine.
