distance after .5 tank of gas

I'm curious as to what distances do you get after 1/2 a tank of gas (where the needle is at the halfway tank). Please also post your driving style and city/highway mix.

So far, I'm at my first quarter tank and i've driven 200 kms all city.

The only time I had a true full tank of gas in the month Ive had my Fit was when the dealer filled it, but then, and now, Im noticing averaging about 250kms for a half tank...mixed driving of highway/city with quite a few short stops in town here.

I'm hoping this will get better with time. While it's certainly better than my old van...I'm a bit disappointed Im not getting the 43 MPG a fellow driving an 07 Fit said he's getting when I asked him as I was gasing up last week.

Ive worked it out to approx. 31 MPG right now.

210kms/quarter tank seems a bit much...I'm curious how you're driving! And WHAT you're driving as I didn't see it on your stats.

I filled up a few days back and set the trip meter to zero, and at half tank today the trip meter was 160

I'm driving a 2009 MT honda fit. this is my very first dealer filled tank. I haven't gotten out of the city as I'm still learning to drive standard. All start and stops on lights. I don't usually rev over 4K. But I do rev to 3K while shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I do drive light footed.
Its 200, not 210 km with 1/4 tank gone because i forgot the car came with 10 km on the odometer. I do not remember if I resetted it when I took delivery. So on the conservative side, i'll say 200kms driven.

My automatic indicates 150 trip miles (240 km) driven since fillup when the gas gauge is at one-half full. When that happens, I'm getting 30 mpg. (which is most of the time)

Don't forget about break-in

black,

Remember that the engine has to break in, and many of us have reported mileage improvement during and after the break-in period. Don't be disappointed if mileage is not what you expect before you reach 4000km or so.

My first 3 tanks (AT) were all under 30mpg, and since 2000mi, I've been over 30 for each tank. I ran a full highway tank this past weekend, and averaged about 43.5mpg. Driving habits and your route (hills, stops-starts, etc) will have a definite affect on mileage.

Enjoy your Fit!

I'm usually at ~160 miles at half full. I have an 08 Fit Sport with MT and average about 34-36 mpg. 12000 miles on it now.

My last few tanks I've been at about 180 miles at the half mark. Those tanks have been around 35 mpg or so in the end.

I've got about 3000 miles on my M/T sport, and I drive fairly easy and mostly in suburban conditions (not highway, but more steady cruising at 45-50 on semi-busy roads as opposed to a stop-and-go urban setting).

I get right around 220 miles on the first half of the tank but i've only ran 3-4 tanks so far. The 2nd half of the tank goes down much quicker for some reason.

The tank is an odd shape, and for that reason alone, the fuel gage isn't really linear. Today, I hit 1/2 tank at approx. 230 miles ('09 Sport MT-mostly 2 lane roads). My average fuel economy over the first 3000 miles (calculated) has been about 39.5 MPG.

I'm usually around 280-300 km at halfway, all city, but some of that city has some long stretch of semi-highway roads here and there. I'm fairly easy on the accelerator.

I usually get 200 miles at the halfway mark. It has been just slightly less on my last 2 tanks though.

As with SpeedMojo and Uncle Gary I find that the halfway point of the gauge is the about the two-thirds point on the tank. My '91 Accord showed the same non-liner readout, although it went about 420 miles between fill-ups, whereas the my '09 Sport MT goes about 320. I find I get about 36mpg, and this figure is surprisingly stable as the city-highway blend changes (the car has just over 6k miles on it).

update: just at half tank now, and my odo is showing 310 kms. all city light to light driving. quite conservative.
