GE8 Seat rails!!??

I've got a nice Recaro SRD that I would like to install in my Fit but unfortunately I can't find a seat rail for the new Fit. Anyone has an idea of where I could find one? I called Tees USA (Bride) and they have nothing for a while. I can't find anything on the Recaro web site.

Several options.

1. Import from Japan say $165ish, approx 8 week lead time.

2. Get the sliders from recaro, and get bottom mounts made @ wedge. Little over $200 a side + shipping. Usually takes wedge about 2 weeks.

3. Buy some civic rails and have the base mounts cut and rewelded to fit the car. (probably what I'm going to do). Rails for the civic are $135, if you know a welder, you can probably get it done for $20.

PM me if you need help.

I've got some EK9 rails on the seat right now. I can always get them welded to the GE8 stock rail bottoms but I would like to be able to swap the stock seat back if I need to.

don't use the stock rails - keep them on your OEM seat. what you need to do is chop off the mounting points of the EK9 rails (part that bolts to the floor), and either move or make new ones.

Hope that makes sense.

^^^ it does make sense...I'll probably get some brackets made to fit the EK9 sliders that are on there. The stock GE8 seats are pretty comfy but they don't hold worth sh!t around corners!

http://bride-jp.com/r-pdf/honda_090302.pdf (PDF file, parts list)

Bride makes RO-type rails for the GE Fits. Those will mate with your Recaro SRDs, no problem. I know because I DIY-installed my own SRDs on them, although my car's a GD1.
http://bride-jp.com/pdf/recli-2.pdf (PDF file, install guide for the RO-type seat rails)

The RO-type rails themselves are standard; it's just the feet at the bottom that will differ with every car.

The rails? I had to order them from a shop that imports them from Japan. Due to delays I had to wait a couple months for them to get shipped to Manila, although normally they'd take half as long.

OT: You got family in the Philippines?

QC? That's perfect. I ordered the rails from Auto Circuit, a shop along the infamous Banawe St.

Maybe try contacting Ben at AJR. He has two T1R kelvar seats in his GE the last time I saw it. Hope that helps.

I just left mine unplugged. Gonna "black tape" the light as soon as it warms up.
