Impact resistance and long term durability are 2 different things.

Actually i bet if a 1974 eldorado hit a recliner you as well as the car would not even feel it

As a Texan, I can assure you all that some stretches of I-35 are ridiculously dark.

Imagine coming up on a stripped down engine laying in the middle of the freeway Thankfully (many years ago) this was something that occurred in the middle of the day and a CHP had just arrived to block off traffic by the time I got to it. Lordy what a mess that would have made in the middle of the night on a poorly lit road doing 60+!

Glad you only tangled with a Lazy-Boy and nobody got hurt...

Lol, Well It's not like you see a La-Z-boy recliner in the middle of the highway often.

At Least you were not hurt. That's good. I would have probably ran head on into it due to thinking I was seeing things.

Sorry to hear about your accident.

Living near L.A. and having to drive down there every couple of weeks, you'd be amazed at the crap on the freeways out here. I saw a refrigerator on the side of the road last week. Imagine how much damage that would have done had it been hit - by anything. (It might have been, but looked like it fell out of someone's truck.)

I grew up in Texas and I-35 does indeed have some very dark spots at night.
