Wink Do you still "look back"...

After 7+ months of ownership...I still find myself admiring my little Fit. When I'm in the local Am-Pm I peek out the window to get a look at her. When I'm walking across the grocery store parking lot...I look back. When I'm at work over the weekend and my car is the only one in the parking lot...I'm always walking around my car during my smoke breaks, looking at her from different angles, wondering what would make her even pertier

I've had a lot of cars over my life time (the Fit being number 29), and for some reason, the Fit seems to look a little different every time I see it. It's just another piece of sheet metal, plastic and rubber...but it easily places in my top 5. It rides pretty rough depending on the road. It aint "fast" by any stretch of the imagination. The cabin is noisy and it's susceptible to cross winds.

And it's one of my all time favorites...and I still look back after 7 months

Do you?

I've been lurking on this site for such a long time now, and i agree with what you said. Everytime I see a fit, it always catches my eyes!! (I even look back all the time) Funny thing is, i don't even own one yet lol. Hopefully, i'd be able to get one as soon as I'm done with school and finally get to my next duty station... Have 3 cars as of this time and still need to convince the wife that the fit is go... haha

I know exactly what you mean lol. Every time I leave my house I take a minute to just admire it before getting inside. I also park it far away from every other car in parking lots so it doesnt get messed up either.

That is why we are called Freaks - this little car is by far my most favorite of all the ones that I have owned. I take much better care
of the Fit then I did with any other car and stress over where I can
park it where it will be safe on a public lot. I never spent an extra $1500.00 on any other car to mod out its appearance.

I still look back almost every time. It's a little awkward sometimes when there are people in the area and they think I'm looking back at them.

Yeah, I do that. I then do a double take at just how SMALL the car is. The car feels like a much bigger car when I'm inside, so I'm always surprisd at how small it looks when I step outside.

But, then again, I still do that with my Harley, and I've owned it for 16 years, so I don't expect to get over this.

I look back pretty much every time, and so people don't think I'm crazy, I just hit the lock button when I do it lol. Especially when it's got fresh raindrops all over it, looks especially sexy..

I have had my car for about 2 years now and I will still look back. I feel bad though I have been neglecting her and not given her a bath for about a week or more now.

Lol! I still look back after 16 months of ownership. Everytime I leave the parking lot, in our driveway, I peak through my bathroom window to see my Fit, after I wash the Fit, I even step backwards to admire the Fit in a longer distance. I've own about 6-7 cars but the Fit has to be my favorite.

I've always done this with my motorcycles, but this is the first car I've felt this way about. I think we're all nuts here.

That's pretty much my point It ain't a tricked out Harley...It's not an exotic sports car. Yet there is something about it even in stock trim that I find "appealing" and worthy of a second (or third) glance. It has an "it" factor that I can't put my finger on...

Most of my cars have had an "it" factor for maybe three months or so Then they just become another car in the stable/driveway/garage. You wash em' and service em' and they are just "there". You get in in the morning and you go off to work without a second thought. For some reason the Fit keeps me looking and smiling...every time I see her

Maybe some of that "it" factor for me is that the Fit seems to have a very specific purpose and goal. It feels like an inspired design, and not just "hey let's make a car".

They put some serious thought into it. What I want to know is why it took Honda 6 years to bring it here

Yup, 13 months and I still always look back, almost like it won't be that way when I look at it again.

A friend of mine commented yesterday when we were cruising to the beach-- "So Fit drivers wave at each other? It's almost as if you drive a motorcycle."

It was right after a VBP sport driver waved at me, and I waved back in my VBP sport. You know there's something about the car when you not only admire your own but everyone elses as well-- and don't feel ashamed of showing it.

Now that I think of it, I've been getting a lot of Fit waves these past few weeks. Cool.

i look back A L L T H E T I M E still even after all this time (nov 06) i especially like to see it (my) fit driving, i like the factory skirt kit making it look low, at work i let almost anyone take my car for little short runs to 7-11 or the supermarket just so i can see it drive AWAY and BACK, i actually get mad when i forget to run outside and watch it come back from such an excursion
i've had around 15 cars and this and my baby (crx) i look at the most

You're definitely on to something there secondspassed...maybe we look at the Fit knowing it was built with a specific intent and appreciate it that much more? The first couple of months I couldn't help but feel like I grew two feet and was looking down at a minivan everytime I walked up to it Big on the inside, small on the outside...I think of it as my "mini" minivan...that's really why I bought it in the first place. To replace a two seater Mazda MX-5 (Miata) and a Ford Ranger Edge. One car to replace two...and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

This thread is a little creepy. I've heard of men stalking women, but stalking a car, that's a new one for me.

Oh it's more than a little creepy, many people here would physically make love to their Fit if they could figure out a way!

^ I would. Every time my low Fit takes a hit to the chest in the form of a pothole that I failed to notice, I get mad, sometimes say stuff like "I'm sorry baby". It's like my Fit is human lol
