fix your GE8 sliding dr side mat
easy cheap fix for all you that can't stand that sliding mat. you can even use a dollar store door hook. just mark the mat hook locations and cut a little slit in the carpet, run hook through carpet from under neath and your done.

FYI the driver side mat is supposed to *come with* clips to keep it in place. I even think I can see one of the slits for its installation in your pic.
EDIT: Not sure, looks like that slit may have been one you cut in there, but there should be some.

Okay, kid. So your mats have holes but you think they weren't intended to use clips? You're not providing enough information here if you're actually trying to help someone else out. And after googling Surrey it looks like you're probably in the UK so you might not have the same mats but all the ones in the US have clips. And if you wanna be a jerk you can go to another forum.
I just picked up my new Fit yesterday and the floor mats do come with clips. The dealer stuffed them in the glove box, instead of installing them properly.
By the way great forum, lots of great info here.

mine also came with the clips.. even though i didn't install them yet..
Another Easy Fix
For those who either don't want to do any cutting or can't be trusted with a knife, some grippy matting, used to line shelves and toolbox drawers, works well too. Just put some under the floor mat. I chose to go with a triple layer because my mats have very deep spikes on the bottom. I paid $0.99 a role for mine and even got it in black.
I broke one of the clips within 500 miles (stepped on it kind-of hard getting out of the car one day)
I tried the non-slip stuff, and it's still moving more than i would like it to. I'll try a few more layers, but should I try filing the pins off of the bottom of the mat? I see no reason in keeping the pins there if there's nothing to grab into.
