Covered the back for $10.00!
Covered the back for $10.00!
I had some time today so I fitted the some vinyl to protect the back (we all know the quality of the Fit's carpet). It cost me less then $10.00, mostly for Velcro.
I thought some would be interested in how in turned out. I bought the thick padded vinyl at a surplus store for .99cents a sheet and I used 2 sheets. I think the grey lightens up the interior and matches the Canadian LX's grey seats.
The key is to use the hook parts of the velcro (sticky on one side) to hook to the carpet. The vinyl was rolled so I think that it will flatten out with time. The trim for the child seats just pops off. It takes some time, but to get the shape just hold the material against the sides and mark it with a pen.
The cover at the back still lifts up and you can remove all the vinyl in about 2 minutes. And with the padding (the vinyl is about an 1/8 of an inch thick) stuff won't slide around
