Power my windows please!

Much like the Full control Foglight mod, I wanted full control of my power windows while the car was off or on. My friends say this is a security risk but I feel its nominal-but beware. It also has a side affect of lighting the drivers door window and lock switches full time, it seems to be minimal power, I dont expect a measureable drain on the battery.

I bought a add in circuit for the mini blade fuse at the auto store, about $8. Normally you do this to tap energy away from the fused circuit, i did the opposite, i powered the circuit full time by tying the lead to the positive post right below. It takes 20 amp fuse to run all 4 windows at the same time. You will need to buy extra fuses. The fit uses "low profile mini blade" and the add in circuit uses regular mini. I think the regular mini multi set was like $4. You cant see it but the red and blue wires are the same wire.

You only need to supply power in one door circuit, the power will backfeed to all 4 doors.

Tools used:
Crimper/stripper and connectors
very long phillips screwdriver for the positive post.

No car wires were cut for this mod.

OT I know, but i'd like to mod my windows so that I can roll all four down (or up) at once.

Cool. What do they call the "piggyback" fuse insert connector thingy you inserted into the fuse block? And where did you get it? I had not seen these before. I may not do this mod but didn't realize they made these.... it would have a whole lot of other uses for tapping power feed (ie power / cigaret lighter connectors), etc. that I could use it for. All without messing up any car wiring.

Thanks!

Dave

Its an add a circuit, at the auto store such as autozone or pep boys. Just look in electrical where you would get fuses and such. Mine was hiding on the bottom shelf.

What I'd like to have, is for the windows to wind up automatically when I lock the car. My friend's Honda Legend used to do this - and the sunroof as well.
