Added NYC bumper guards 09 Fit Sport

I figured i'd post pics of the added nyc bumper guards. These are pretty common to add around here as I parallel park daily and my bumper usually get chewed up. These have helped my other cars in the past...kinda tacky but they work. Bought them from here:
Car Bumper Protection, Bumper Protector and Color Bumper Guards, Car Door Guards

thanks another thing to note is that they are molded in this color so...when they are bumped or rubbed against...the color does not rub off :-)

Hey I was born and raised in Manhattan so I know all about the horrible parallel parking situation there. It is so tight people squeeze into spaces they really shouldn't and there is no room between the car in front or back to move. It seems like every car in New York has some sort of ding or dent in it. I would not own a car in New York City because of how good public transportation is and because of how badly cars get beat up by poor drives, crazy cabbies, potholes everywhere, and brutal winters.

However those bumper guards look really good actually, and I'm all about function over form anyway. If it works to protect the car in some fashion I don't care what it looks like. If I lived in New York City with a Fit (or any car) I would buy them in a heartbeat.

The parking is horrible. When i first moved here 10yrs ago I had a new (leased) 99 Lexus GS300...couldn't get out of the lease. By the end of the lease 3 1/2 years and less than 30k miles the bumpers where a disaster, actually most of the outside paint was a disaster. My favorite parking story was when i walked to the car and saw kids throw a snapple bottle at it and crack my windshield. I also love the door dings w/ yellow paint i'd get occasionally (people getting out of cabs and just slamming the doors into my cars).
I live/work in brooklyn and for me to get to my job its easier to drive 10 mins than be stuck waiting for the subways/transfers etc.

ur car's growing a mustash.

I can understand living in the city and sympathize for those arsehole drivers that think bumping other cars is "ok".

Been there done that (not the bumper bumping), left the city instead.

Really, not bad at all.

When I saw the title, I was thinking like the pushbars on cop cars.

Pretty good idea if you are in an area that needs something like that.

It looks like the access to the front tow hook anchor is blocked.

Reminds me of the 96-98 Civic SiR bumpers.

Sorry if it's a stupid question. Any chance of these interfering with air bag sensor's?

I didn't think they would because the dealer added the front license plate frame and that sticks out way more than the moldings do.

The frequency he'd be replacing bumpers living in NYC would be asinine. This is the best bet living in that city and still owning a car.

Its true...these bumpers guards really do help. When i bought my 01 Mbenz wagon I put them on when i got it...it was a used NJ car perfect condition. 2 years later i just have some rub marks on the rear bumper bumper guards and since they are molded in color they are fine.
They sell all kinds of bumper protection here...I've tried a few. On one car i had my bumpers shrink wrapped in clear plastic...great in theory...but the license plate screws from cars chewed into that plastic and it looked horrible.

I bought the 2" one full bumper guard for the rear the smallest length and the smallest length for the front.

Moonroof the dealer put in...that was $1000

hey thanks... living in nj/ny, i got another scratch on my 2 month old fit! i really need one of these. it looks better than the bumper bully, but does it work as well?

i was about to order a color sample, but to cut that expense and waiting time. is the one you have on your TWB Fit, the lite blue metallic color?
