New to forum, proud Fit owner and some pics!

So the '95 4Runner SR5 had all these oil leaks and cooling problems that would've cost a significant amount to fix. I bought the thing just last year [intending to fix all the issues but just never got around to it] for $2,500 to haul big dirty things but couldn't resist the CARS program and got $4,650 credit toward a new '09 Fit Sport MT with Navi.

I've already been reading a lot of interesting posts from all you guys about this excellent commuter and also hope to be an active contributing member to this board. So without further ado, some pics...

...oh yeah, since the purchase I've added an OEM cargo cover, floor mats (both purchased on Ebay), and a tint. I keep telling myself I'm going to leave everything stock for now, but we'll see how long that'll last.

It's pretty sweet. Easy to read, responsive resistive touchscreen, graphical display of highway splits / turns / ramps / distance bar indicator before turns, integrated iPod menu controls, and just a pleasure to use. Totally beats using anything from BMW.

Funny that you ask. I originally was planning on purchasing a Fit Sport MT without navi, as long as it was black. This was the only black Sport MT they had left on their lot and I just said wth, just pay extra for the navi and traction control to see how it is. I'm glad I got it! No more suction cup mounting and dangling cords for me.

@Dakid: Totally agree. A pain to keep clean but looks beautiful when it is.

@chubbykai: Thanks! Maybe I'll see you around.

Grats! I get mine as soon as my bank sends me the clear title letter for my clunker! Black looks great, but I was stuck between blue and blackberry. I went with blackberry. How were your eBay purchases? I need to do the same.

Like the tint on that black fit. That would be the other color I would have chosen.

Congrats and welcome to the board. Lots of cool info in here and very helpful members. I've been busy reading posts about this and that concerning the Fit.

@Grahamers: Thanks! With some scouting, I was able to find OEM carpted floormats for ~$80 and OEM cargo cover for ~$130. Whatever you do, don't pay the crazy stealership prices.

@rangefit: Yes, absolutely love the tint. With the excellent interior visibility, I felt naked without a tint. Once I sat inside with the tint done, a warm fuzzy feeling of security just came over me. Lol... I know I'm weird.

Congrats and enjoy it... I got the same exact model. I had to wait 4 months for it, but every day I drive it I love it more. I could have had the Auto Navi the same day but I am definitely glad I waited for the MT w/Navi.

I can't wait till the majority of my mods are done so I can really start enjoying it more... I thought I would also just do a few mods but the list just keeps growing and growing.

I wish I could get tint that dark here, it looks great on your car. What's the brand, style/type?

That looks great. I've been thinking about doing a tint to mine, but I wouldn't get down the street in San Diego with the fronts tinted.

Sorry, been kind of MIA.

@FitStir: Thanks! I'm lovin' the Fit MT more and more each day too. Took 3 people to the beach this past weekend and was able to fit a parasol, beach chairs, towels and food without any issues. The ride is nice and comfy compared to the M3 and is just an easy going car. Just an awesome daily driver.

I hear ya about the mods. I just ordered OEM wind visors. Hehe...

Not sure what the brand of the tint is. I looked on my receipt and it just says HP20. I'm assuming that's 20%? I just looked at all the samples and just decided to go with what looks good. It's a mid-level choice at the tinter's place. Their high-end stuff is 3M tint, so whatever I got was one step below that. Paid $165 for everything.

@Surfing: Yup, I'm definitely taking a risk with a tint like that even in Orange County. It's actually not too bad in the sun, you can still see through it but at night it's very dark. Having the GPS turned on at night helps illuminate the interior just a little but you can only make out the driver's silhouette. Hopefully I don't get any trouble. *knock on wood*
