My oil analysis - part 2

These are the results of my 2nd oil change. This is at 10.2k with the OEM filter and regular Penzoil 5W-20. Maintenance minder was at 60%. Thoughts?

thanks for sharing the results again!

i've driven 5200 miles since my first oil change (10,700 miles overall).
oil minder is currently at 60%.

with your test results i'm thinking i'll drive another 1300 miles before changing oil... in other words 6500 between oil changes.

corrected for liability. This is one person driving one car. If we had a large team of people religiously sending out their oil for analysis over a wide spectrum of total milage, that might be some good general advice.

thats really cool! I've always meant to send mine out for analysis... where did you send it to? and if you don't mind me asking, what was the cost?

Blackstone Laboratories. Costs $22.50 and takes less than a week for the results.

oh wow, I contacted 2 places a number of years ago concerning this and the lab/analysis fees were around a 100 bucks. At that price I will certainly be sending out samples from my cars. good find!
