Unfortunately no one in my family has a manual car - I know right?! But I'm starting to really get the hang of it now, like you said the only thing I have left to conquer is not letting nerves get to me when I'm on a hill with someone right up my @$$... being aggressive is sort of how I've made myself act when coming out of first on even a slight incline, its getting easier!
