Broken Fog Lights Survey for GE Sport

All GE Sport owner, I am trying to collect broken fog lamp data. I wonder what is the percentage of GE Sport got broken fog light since you bought it. I got one broken on passenger side.

Note: Please do not participate in this survey if you get any protection for your fog light or less than 6 months of ownership

Current statistics:
Total # of GE got broken fog lamp: 1
Total # of GE got intact fog lamp : 0

*** For next person to report: ***

- If you have broken fog lamp, post following:

Total # of GE got broken fog lamp: 2 (1+ last post)
Total # of GE got intact fog lamp : 0 (0 + last post)

- If you have intact fog lamp, post following:

# of GE got broken fog lamp: 1 (0 + last post)
# of GE got intact fog lamp : 1 (1 + last post)

And so on so forth. We will do the tally after more people respond.

Is there a reason for this? You know this doesn't only happen to us, it happens to all cars with foglights :P

It never happens to my Infiniti G20 after 7 years. I got a broken one on my GE after less than 6 months. I am just curious it was my bad luck or poor design on the Fit.

With any kind of protection does not count. I don't want to skew the result.

There's an easier way to do this by adding a poll to this thread.

I will add that I had my 87 Volvo 760 for 8 years and the fog light glass never took any damage. Funny thing is I snagged the front underspoiler on everything with that car.

No offense, but I do not see the point of this either. You want to take a tally of how many people got their fogs busted by total and absolute chance? To show or prove what- how lucky or unlucky people are? What's next, polling to see who has more leaves fall in their yard? It's just that no matter what the end result, it means absolutely nothing.

What does mean something is what people are doing or applying on the fog lense to help avoid the situation. After searching, I've come up relatively empty. There's detailed threads about how to lay floor mats in the fit...FLOOR MATS! With pictures! Insane! But a lense cover product with how-to installation pics? Not much, except for a quick mesh cutout that doesn't look to work well. I'd like to avoid the problem but I haven't found much out there in the stores or on line to use. So rather than a head count of the screwed, how about a how-to so it can be avoided.

And thanks!

Dan

Thanks, but that's the thread that features the mesh solution that doesn't impress all too much. I'll have to figure something out- what I have no idea.

I had a broken driver's side fog light after a few months. I replaced the light, then put film on both of them, and haven't had any problems since.

I just received some X-pel laminate in the mail this morning.

It was about $12 including shipping, for a 10" x 6" piece, 30 mil thick. Pay by the square inch for what you need.

Available in blue, smoke, yellow and clear..........I got yellow.

Looks like nice quality..........will post some pics when installed.
