Oil Burning

I'm at 7600 on my '09 Sport, and have added a quart of oil, half at about 3k and the other half quart today. No evidence of any leak on the garage floor; engine bay has no sputter, etc. Is this normal, or something I need to get checked out more closely?

thanks,
Dave

if you rev your engine high a lot like i do, you might burn some oil. i added about 1/4+ quart the other day at 50% oil life. no biggie.

just buy a 5qt jug of synthetic and just keep the remaining 1qt for adding later.

My '09 Sport used about 8 ounces of oil in the first 10,000 miles, but a pint of oil in 3000 miles isn't excessive either, especially in a new engine.

If it's still doing it at 25k get a check up. My 97 tbird w/ 170k doesn't burn a quart. But it's a new engine in the fit so too early to tell

Thanks folks. Got a bunch of Pennzoil Platinum on sale for $4/qt. so I should be set for awhile. Of course, I'll continue to monitor it.
