Ok so there was another thread about green GE8s offered in Mexico and pointed out the fact that they have the "base model" JDM taillights on their Fits there.

Anyway I was curious if it would be easier than shipping and swapping taillights across the Pacific, if people wanted them brand new to perhaps source them from a Honda dealership in Mexico? I started looking through the dealerships listed and none that I looked at had an online parts catalog. So I guess we'd have to call or email and even see if they would ship to the US?

Just thought I'd bring this point up as there seems to be a lot of interest and a lot of threads on these taillights. Let me know your thoughts, or if this is a fail idea

I recall an old thread where some of the GD owners were able to buy parts from the Honda dealership in Tijuana, but no info on shipping.

I wonder if Mexico gets the auto-fold mirrors?

I have an EX '09 Fit from Mexico. Maybe I can help you woth your questions, or maybe ask for the price of soma parts. Hope I can help. By the way, we don't have the auto folding mirrors, but we have the red/orange cluster, auto locking fuel cap, range indicator, among others.

 

Auto locking fuel cap? I am in for a group buy on the tails if they fit USDM.

 

Yes, in my car there is a pin that slides and locks the fuel door when you lock the car. There are also differences in the size, my car is shorter, has height adjustment in the driver's seat, rear disc brakes, among others.
