Dumb Wheel Question?
Dumb Wheel Question?
I know this might be a dumb question, but here goes.
I just bought a used set of steels wheels (to use with snows) that came off the last generation Civic. (2001-5). I did phone a dealer and they said they would fit my Fit. I have a Canadian LX which comes with the Alloy 15" /5.5" wide rims. The Civic rims are 15" but are 6" wide, will this cause any problems?
Thanks for the help.

I bought the 14" 4x100 generic steelies for use as winters. I took off the 16" Sport rims, and I bought 14's, as the rubber was so cheap. I had bought on rim first to check for clearance issues. None, and with the rubber I bought, they are exactly the same OD as the 26" rubber.
Maybe I'll post a picture when the wife-unit gets home.

While Fits all have 100 mm x 4 bolt circles the hub bore and offset can change. and the 'dish' design is different too. so you'll need to mount up at least one wheel in front ( possibly rear too to check hub bore) to see if the dish clears the brake caliper. If it doesn't but is just barely interferering you can use 1/4" spacers. That also works if the hub bore is undersize. If the offset is too little so the wheel is pushed well into the outer fender arch there's not much you can do but change wheels.
Good luck. its not a dumb question either.
