aye. the addiction of having extra money in your pocket is far more intoxicating, especially when you can pull your fit up to the valet without hesitation while the guy in the bimmer is holding up traffic debating if $11/hr is a good excuse for why his wife had to wait an extra 30 min and walk in 20 degree weather while he looped around the airport to find cheaper parking

91 Honda Civic DX. Still have it, but has a nice dent on the side from an accident. Bent the frame of the body and couldn't be repaired. Everything works just like normal. I just can't get it to start cause I haven't driven it in many months. Has about 80,000 miles on it. It's gonna be my younger brother's car pretty soon.

That car had only one previous owner before my older brother had it, than me, than soon to be my younger brother.

1999 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup. I live in the country, so I still have it and will use it infrequently as a utility vehicle. It was my primary vehicle.

Sitting in the Fit is a big (little?) change, but I'm having no problem adjusting so far.

The Silverado had the following combined EPA numbers:

Old EPA Rating: 18MPG
New EPA Rating: 16MPG
Recent Actual: 15MPG

So far I'm seeing 33-36 routinely in the Fit and I'm lovin' it!

If I may ask, Why? That just seems unreal, especially the amount of money you must have lost unloading both of those cars in an economy like this.

Which is currently sitting in a police impound lot because whoever ended up with it after I traded it in didn't have a license I only know because the title transfer was still pending when it got locked up so I got the impound notice.

I am downsizing from a mini van... and so far LOVE love love the new fit. (I am a week in.)

Current:
2010 Honda Fit base in Tidewater Blue with cool keyless entry courtesy of this forum. Auto trans because I am now officially a lazy bum.

Here's my sordid past:

2000 Mazda MPV- Teal blue. Loved this car. Bought it used at 4OK miles. Traded it in at 120K. Terrible gas mileage.
1994 Volvo 740 Wagon. AT. Green. Bought it used at 129K miles. Hated this POS from the day I bought it. It's still on the road. My husband's friend got it.
1990 Saab 900S- Red. MT Bought it used at 165K miles. Drove it to 300k. Traded it in for the mini van.
1984 Saab 900- MT. Used w/ 120K miles.
Mazda GLC sport. MT. Can't remember what year. Probably an '80 or so? Head gasket blew at 100k.
Volvo sedan. Can't remember the year or model, but I only drove it for a month. It was a mess.
1973 Volkswagen Type 3 fast back. Semi-Automatic. (Remember those?) Odometer was busted from the day I bought it, so I have no idea what the mileage was, but I loved this car. Drove it for years. No heat. Drank oil. (This was the days before the tidy plastic bottles, too... so the entire back of my car was soaked with Castrol GTX leaking out of old cans.

Current:
2010 Base AT in Storm Silver.
Purchased 11/28/09.
This is my first Honda.

Previous:
2002 Volvo V40 1.9t
(I could probably have purchased TWO Fits if I still had the cash I spent doing regular maintenance on this delicate Dutch Mitsubishi Carisma although I suppose it could've been worse since I hear Ford is unloading Volvo to Geely.)

The only thing I miss is the moonroof.

'91 Accord, with 237k on it. It was running well, but was rusting and I was getting tired of always having to replace parts. This, plus the fact that dealers were willing to negotiate on price last February, led me to buy my Fit Sport MT. Got $900 for the Accord, selling it to a guy on the street.

And I miss it every day. Don't get me wrong, I love the fit, but just riding along on a nice warm day.... *sigh*

Plus I could drive like a complete tool and get 50 mpg.

Since we are disclosing full histories here:

79' Buick Riviera, 3.8L Turbo, FWD (first car, and an odd one)
85.5' Ford Escort 5spd (major POS)
91' Jeep Wrangler 5spd (fun off-road, but slow and had no A/C)
92' Acura Integra LS (Made me love Hondas)
92' Mazda Miata (Still own this, now a turbocharged project/track car)
78' Chevy C10 pickup (POS work truck, Rust in Pieces)
72' Honda CB500 Bike- (Sold it because I was sure I'd kill myself on it--decided to focus on modding the Miata for my speed fix)
81' Corvette (Inherited it when my dad died- later sold to a family member)
00' Subie Forester (also got when my dad died, didn't keep it long)
87' Plymouth Gran Fury (Inherited when G-pa died, later sold it to buy the Maxima)
91' Maxima SE 5spd (Loved the 4-door sports car! RIP after hitting a deer)
93' Plymouth Grand Voyager (the Shaggin' Wagon! Bought @ $500, sold @ $750 My dog still misses it)
00' Mazda Protege ES 5spd (most miles I ever put on a car-traded in on the Fit at 181K)
10' SSM Fit Sport MT (My first new car. Only the 2nd car I've ever bought with a loan--I still have the first one- the Miata)

Stats:
So that's 14 vehicles in all! Wow, I never listed them all before. 50% of them have been equipped with a Manual transmission.

I'm 33 y.o., got first car at 16, so that's 14 cars in 17 years! I have obtained vehicles at a rate of .82 vehicles per year. It really seems wasteful when I look at it that way...
