Tire cables.

We're getting dumped on (snow) pretty heavily here in DC, so I bought a set of tire cables because I had to work today. They worked great, but I noticed that the TPM indicator came on as soon as I put the cables on. The tires seem to be ok, and I haven't had a chance to see if the TPM indicator has reset itself since removing the cables. I was just wondering if any of you had a similar problem.

Also, when I was removing the cables, one of them got all tangled on the inside of the tire. I didn't pull or anything like that, but it did take me some maneuvering i.e. backing up, untangling a little, pulling forward, untangling to get them out and I was worried that maybe I inadvertently damaged something? I could not see any damage after turning my wheels to look back there, but I was wondering if there's anything there I should keep my eyes on? I'm not very automobile savvy, but I do know there are some brake cables/hoses and the boot in the area my cables got tangled.

Any advice would be great.

I couldn't tell you why, but pulling the TPMS codes would tell you what's wrong. There are no wires for the TPMS in the vicinity of the wheel well; my guess is that either that the cables interfered with the sensor's signal or that a wheel sensor is not sending (unrelated to the cables). If you have access to equipment to re-initialize the sensors you could try that first. My dealership does it under warranty or out of warranty for $45.00us; my local Walmart says they do it for $19.95 but have no idea if they can do a Fit or not. I'd check there first unless your car is under warranty. If it is, set an appointment with the dealer making no mention of the cables.
