sun visor dissasembly help

i've been trying to remove the sun visor for the past 2 days and so far no luck. i've tried twisting and pulling and poking but its a no go. For those who have done their headliner or just removed their sun visor for any reason, how do you do it? lol

im sure you guys know what it looks like but here are some pics:

stick a flat headed screwdriver into that slot in the side of the base, then rotate the visor.

see step #15 in these instructions for more help.

wait... so it screws off... meaning that there aren't bolts/holes for a wink mirror?

i still cant manage to remove it. i've followed the steps: push the tab in with a flathead while rotating. It still isn't budging. i've only managed to damage the plastic.

DONT DO IT. I tried doing this and ended up breaking the sun visor. When removed there are no holes for the wink mirror because it doesnt use screws. I did that for the same reason and now got a busted visor. I mounted my wink mirror on the windshield and its a piece of shit. It rattles like hell, so bad that you cant even see whats behind you. And any minor bump will make it fall and aim down, I readjust it about 5 times each trip. Now im screwed cause its glued to the windshield using silicone, and theres a bunch of glue residue all over my windshield that I cant remove... Cant wait to go back to stock. Its a cool mirror but the vibration and falling out of alignment is just too much trouble. I just removed both visors completely and re-did my headliner without visors or handles. Plus with the wink mirror you cant really use the visors anyway, and the mirror kind of acts like a visor. I really want a Gentex mirror that comes with compass, outdoor temperature, and homelink.

I had a broadway before and its waaaay better. I mean if your really set on the wink then mount it on the windshield, but just giving you fair warning about how much it vibrates.
