DIY: Simple and quick fix for SHORT SUN VIZOR when in the side mode.
My commute is about 15 miles going south every morning, so the sun shines through the side window right into my eyes.
Everyone knows that the GE8's sun visor is nearly useless when using to shade the light from the side.
So I made my own extension to the visor.
I cut a piece of vinyl sheet and made a cut in it so that it is easily attached to the sun visor (see the picture). It extends an extra 2-3 inches lower and 1-2 inches further than the stock one. This completely shields me from the direct sun.
I put it on when I need it and take it off when I don't.
Here are the pics: 33.jpg?t=1268295666 2.jpg?t=12682953383.jpg?t=1268295388
It solved the problem for me.
Oh, and this is just to admire the GE interior.4.jpg?t=1268295420

I did something sort of similar; I got one of those visor CD holders. It holds 20 CDs and folds closed and is held closed by velcro. When the visor is too short to block the sun on the side for me, I just open the velcro and let it unfold and it covers the same area your solution did. And it does double duty holding my CDs. Win!
