Just be aware that in some states, the cops are ticketing anyone with HID. Several of my Solstice club members got the tickets and had to remove them. Went back to Silverstars. I put HID fog lights on and still had some problems with those being too bright. No tickets, though.

Lets not encourage people to rice their cars out. Lets keep it clean, performing, and legal.

ummm, strange.. I guess US are pretty picky on HID... or i should say, a lot of people didnt know that they actually need to realign their headlight after installing HID?

I had HID on for years and never got ticket... i just think its how people drive that catches their attention, and not the lights itself.

Anyway, just seeking interest.

Depends on the State, the cop and most importantly, how deep in debt the local city is. They need more money, the just write you up for anything they can. (Photo radar in Arizona is a perfect example. The policy is that any judge, cop or city official who was caught by photo was NOT to be issued a ticket. Only the serfs get tickets)

Re aligning your headlights will not prevent the plug and play kit from glare and blinding others. Xenon light waxes do not act the same as halogen light waves. Light is not just light. There's lots more to it. Aim it so low that you won't illuminate 5 feet in front of you then it might not blind others. These plug and play kits go hand in hand with chicken wire body kits and big spoilers.

Aye, sadly I have to express my disaproval as well. Retrofit or go home. I'm sick of PNP HID lights glaring me. I know retrofit aint cheap or easy thats why I dont have HID lights at all, but if you cant afford to do it right dont do it at all. Nobody thinks bright blinding 'blue' (depending on the color temperature - 6000k+ is silly) tinged lights are cool.

Hell, What if I think my highbeams look cool and they help me see better so I should drive around with them, right?

Good option. Silverstars will have shorter life but if you absolutely lust after slightly brighter (due to higher wattage) and whiter (due to filtering (which actually negates some of the gain ) ) light then silverstars are a good option. OEM with a little headlight adjust works too. I know alot of members were disapointed by the stock lights until they adjusted them up a bit, but still plenty low enough to spare oncoming traffic.

OK, I am just seeking interest. If you guys are pefectly happy with whatever you have, its all cool. But respect other's for their choices.

Don't flame your fellow FFs or anyone who have PNP HIDs. They are not ricers, and even if they are, so what? Its like if you want to mod a car, no one can stop you. And why do you want to put projectos on your fit to have HID? Its simply cause you want attention, its not because you want to see better... so lets be honest... all that technical BS is just a cover up. Silverstar or PIAA superwhite bulbs are all branded as "HID-Like", so go figure.

And like I said, I am posting simply to see who is interested in buying because I can help get a group buy deal, just like the last time I help you GE folks order stuff directly from Japan and bring them over in my suitcase.(And if you guys are too new to this forum, go check history).

I aint asking people to comment, so If you have an opinion about HID kits, keep it to yourself. If you dun understand what I mean, read this passage again. The law pretty much states that if your stuff is not OEM, you are screwed, isnt that what the dealership tells you from day one? (Hint: warranty)

You just showed you have no idea what you are talking about if you think all the technical stuff is a cover up. I highly suggest you do some research and understand the difference between halogen lighting, and xenon lighting. Also do some reading on CRI or color rendition index.

I did not put projectors in my car to get attention, even though plug and play kits are the ones that get the most attention since they blind everyone. I got projectors because they direct the light where it needs to go and does not pose a threat to people around me. Don't open your mouth on a subject you have no clue about otherwise you make yourself out to look dumb. And I find it ironic that you actually have projectors on your car.

Am I providing fact, not opinion. If you don't want to take my word for it do your own research. If you are not willing to educate yourself on said topic then you have no right to comment on what you think is fact.

Read title: Seeking Interest: Group buy HID

It cant be more obvious... cant it? I dont see anything about seeking opinion or advice... If you want HID, then go for it and sign up; if you don't like it, then dont post... simple as that... no one is pointing a gun at your head to buy, and anything else said is really extra.

And qbmurderer13, thanks for sharing your information, but thats not exactly what this thread is for... Whether you are proving a fact or opinion, I really can care less... the whole thread is simply seeking for interest. If you cant even understand the topic, then like you put it:

So don't start a fight on this forum, especially with me because i did my fair share contributing to the GE community (I dont remember the last time you organize a group buy =\). If you don't like what I said, I cant help it. But don't get personal and start calling people dumb, and neg rep-ing me isnt going to make you any more right... what comes around goes around... people can judge by themselves.

Im just glad that my local FF community is a lot more supportive than some people down south.

Anyone thinking about purchasing and HID kit should first read this page regarding the topic. It is actually written by an engineer and industry analyst on automotive lighting and signaling.

Remember that the roads are a public resource. Your right to modify your vehicle ends when it starts to affect others on the road. Using HID kits in a reflector headlamp designed for a specific type of halogen bulb WILL glare other drivers. No amount of aligning will fix this problem. Advocating unsafe and potentially dangerous modifications is unethical plain and simple.

*sigh*

You people just don't give up. If projectors is the ONLY safe way for HIDs, then consider this...

H4 Hi/Lo Bixenon Projector Conversion kit w/ angel eye

Just got a quote on these kits. USD200/kit (based on 20+ bulk order), and comes with all the hardware, such as:

- Ballast
- Burner
- Harness
- Projector w/ Angel Eye (can be disabled)
- Mounting brackets

Angel eye comes in colors of white, blue, red, green, and yellow. You can make one halo red and the other blue if you are looking to get yourself into serious trouble, but then angel eyes can be disconnected for street legal use.

Now everyone is happy, no more reflector glare or blinding lights now, no tickets... but if your state does not allow any mods, then KEEP YOURS STOCK. If you guys are interested, just sign up.
