I don't recommend HID unless you do it as a projector retrofit. I recommend Morimoto HID's. HID's by themselves caused too much glare and blinded approaching vehicles. Do it right. I have HIDs in my fogs and same problem. I had to apply headlightarmor film to artificially dim the output. Good luck

What bulbs can I get to make my headlights brighter, without going HID?

I'm assuming you only want the fog light bulbs?

If you really want to put HIDs into the fogs, maybe 3000K-4300K would be "ok".
But for regular bulbs there are a lot of options out there, it just depends on your price range and the reviews of the people that have used them.

Sylvania Silverstar ZXE (My 1st pair still running for over a year now)
PIAA
Phillips Extreme White
Nokya
GE
Etc.

I have no problems with my HIDs. I'm lowered and I have eye lids on my head lights. I installed them last night and two cops pulled in front of me and I didn't get in trouble. I was waiting to get pulled over... normally our local cops are pricks.

Is there a special kit for fog light HIDs?...or I use a regular HID kit and get HID fog light bulbs?

An HID "kit" should include everything that you need. Bulbs, harness, ballasts, relay, etc. Post pictures when you have it installed.

You will be much happier with a set of Sylvania Silverstars Ultra or PIAA.

HID kits are mostly problamatic in our Fits. You have been warned. The light housing is not designed to use HIDs. The intense heat will discolor the housing with time. If you get the wrong ones you can burn your wires.

If you want to add a little something unique to your Fit, use a white or blue LED bulb in the upper light above the main headlight instead of the ugly yellow ones. Some people call them marker lights others parking lights.

I have blue ones in mine and will be getting blue fog lights to match.

I have to agree with Dwalbert. If you do want HIDs in your headlights, the only way to do it is to retrofit them with projectors. I know it's not "legal" for us because they're not factory but you won't blind people compared to just HIDs in your regular housing.

IMO, HIDs in the fog lights are ok as long as it's not blinding bright.

That's a horrible cutoff line.

Please do it right and retrofit. As mentioned before reflector headlights are not good for HID kits. I've used Silverstars on my Integra and Evo, the bulbs are brighter than stock and whiter color also.

These pictures are actualy great examples as to why you DON'T want to put HID's in a halogen headlight. Lest look at the first photo. You see all that light above the cut off? Yea that is BAD, that is glare and that is what is blinding on coming traffic. You want to know what it looks like when you do a proper retrofit? Well take a look at this picture I took back in 09 when I had a retrofit.

Would you look at how clean and crisp that cut off is, it just looks so amazing. Now the second pic above is another great one because you can see just how much glare there is when off to the side of the car. Could you imagine that car being right next to you at night? its headlights would be blinding you when there are next to you! how annoying is that, its very I tell you what.

Yea I see what you're saying.... However. ... I like being that asshole xD plus I can see all the road signs in front of me. I have yet to had a person flash their lights at me. I'd rather have people see me coming.

I agree with the other members warning you about the HID in Stock housing. If you dont have the money or time to do the retro you can always look at these:

09-12 Honda Fit Halo Projector Headlights, with Xenon HID Lighting System - Pair (Black)

Either you're kidding or you're missing the point that other people are making.

People won't "see" you coming. They'll be blinded by all the glare and not be able to see anything at all until you pass.
