by reading this thread: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ng+wheel+audio

Post pics of the install so we have a comprehensive DIY on how to upgrade the steering wheel controls. I believe you have to add one wire of your own so if you can get a few pins from the car that the audio controls came out of, go get them.

your most likely are going to have to take all the clips off of that harness.
so it will be just wires left and not clips. then your going to have to insert
the wires into the clips on the cruise control. your most likely going to
need a manual to see what colors go where from the navi model.

I'm trying to do the same thing on my 09 Sport and waiting on the part to arrive. My question is, the part number you have comes up invalid on the sites I checked. Is that the Canadian part # ?
The part # I have is # 36770-TK6-A41 but yours looks exactly like the one I need.

If you go aftermarket with the headunit you can wire it up directly to the control box for the headunit. just cut the harness off and connect the wires. Might be a good excuse to go aftermarket.

I've noticed at least one person stating they thought you would have to strip off the connectors and such. I wouldn't do that, yet. There is more than one thread on this forum relating what you're trying to do. Seems I remember someone in one of the "Steering Wheel Audio Control" threads used the complete harness and the connector you're showing. The only thing he did was, like another responder stated, add one wire to the harness. Whoever it was that posted also showed the type of pins he purchased for the end of the wire in order to insert the extra wire into the harness.

Anyway, if I were you I would search for any and all threads/posts related to "Steering Wheel Audio Controls." It may turn out easier than it seems. Seems I also remember even in the threads which had no solution there was still valuable information to be found there relating to what you're trying to do.

it looks like its a jdm part number. how'd you even order that part? people have just been ordering the whole harness from the nav. part#: 36770-TK6-A31 and replacing the whole thing from what i understand.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I think it only looks like the actual audio switch and the harness are separate. Again, if that's what you're talking about.

Maybe you can explain something to me (and this is what you are referring to)?

This place sells Honda parts... but as you will see, the #5 and #6 (audio control/harness and cruise control/harness) are not listed. They are shown, but in the list to the left they are not even a choice.

Part Detail

Matter of fact, obviously items 1-6 aren't listed (also items 10, 12, 13, 19, 20)... not only the audio and cruise switches/harnesses.

Am I missing something as far as finding the prices on those items? Or are they as it appears... not for individual sale from this particular vendor?

i believe it's a jdm part number, because when i look that number up in the US locator, it says number not found. and when i google'd the number, only japanese websites came up.

as far as why you can't see the prices on that sheet, it's because you looked up a base model fit. only the part numbers come up for the car you looked up; however, the diagram shows every part available for the different models. the one with just the cruise is from the sport, the one with both harnesses is for the nav, same with the 10,12,13, etc those are the nav voice control buttons, paddle shifter surrounds, etc. that part # i gave is the part number for #6 on your diagram.

if you get the one from the civic. it looks just like the one in the pic.
then all you have to do is take out all the pins and put them in yours.
