like $189 shipped, just bought one two weeks ago. It was less than $200. The cheapest I found the factory armrest was $167 plus shipping.

Where can you order the arm rest for less?
Will a 5" garmin gps 1490T fit in it?

can I install a driver side arm rest onto the passenger seat? It feels like there is a possible attachment point under the material.

Not unless you get the OEM armrest from japan. Just the shape of it and the way it mounts to the seat.

Which model has an armrest here? I know mine didn't come with an armrest attached. If it did I missed it, but I also replaced my seats the day after I brought the car home.

Nevermind, the MT equipped models do not have an armrest. Just looked at the Fit's page on Honda. I knew I couldn't have missed such a thing.

Hmm... so I have all the tools but the 12mm socket (13mm is the closest I have)...

Not good with tools. What bolt needs the 12mm, and would a 13mm socket or 12mm combo wrench work instead?

****Edit: turns out it was the most important bolts (for the bracket under the e-brake mount). Fortunately, there was enough play to use a combination wrench.

Overall, the install was quite simple and the armrest feels great. Loosening the e-brake helps, and you will likely still need to hold down that bracket when starting the bolt... and you might lose a screw under the carpet in the process... But other than that it is quite simple. Thanks for all the tips (e.g. 3mm -> 1/8", 8mm -> 5/16", 20mm -> 3/4"). I will keep the idea of stuffing rags into crevices next time, to avoid pulling up the carpet :-P.

Love mine; looks great (the standard one is a real POS), and the install is a little fiddly, but the online instructions can give you an idea of what you'll face.
IIRC, there is a template for the small holes, and the larger ones require a metric bit, which I didn't have. Drilled the holes with an undersize paddle bit and then opened them a little with a Dremel and sanding drum. A dowel (or pencil) wrapped in sandpaper would do as well.

I installed mine this weekend. It wasnt a hard job with the online video and PDF available. I do miss the rear cupholder, and I am not sure I like the vinyl material on the new armrest as much as the cloth on the old one.

IIRC, vinyl it ain't.
Due respect, but the original was a fuzzy, furry mess. I'm not meaning to argue here; YMMV.

Its leather? I will have to give it the sniff test

My car is only a few months old, so its not too hairy and fuzzy yet, but I get your point!

Yep. No 'hyde de nauga' here.
Got the car in October '09, and the original armrest lasted 'till Christmas, when my bride got me the console/armrest, rub strips and the applique for the rear bumper. I installed all three in a couple hours and only recall swearing once. Some of my projects make the neighbors close their windows.

I'm new to parts ordering... is there an easy way to find the part and order, without knowing Japanese?

Wonder how much shipping would be?

Or you can check singapore forum (GE Club Forum • Index page), need to register first
Here is the print screen of a thread from Auan's poison shop

I think prices are in singapore dollars...just a suggestion and check if parts are suitable for left driving car too.

Do you really even use the armrest? I don't think I'd have much use for it anyway...

RE: the OEM console/armrest, since I drive with two hands on the wheel, I don't use it much. Passengers like it.

I can't remember what a tangent piece of highway looks like...
But I see your point.

I had the armrest installed about 2 weeks ago. Very nice indeed. I almost lost a bolt under the carpet. Be very careful.
