Thinking about picking one of these up as I think it will help on my 100 mile a day commute...I like to "lean" a lot lol

I'm probably going to go against the grain here and just pay to have the dealership install it...yeah will set me back a few bucks but between reserves, work and family life time is crunched....not to mention I usually find a way to mess things like this up lol

Def looks like a must mod though

Does the Honda armrest sit at the same elbow level as the factory arm rest on the driver's seat? I find the factory one to be about an inch too high.

Great question. In general I find arm rests too tall for me. I might go for the overhead storage bin idea versus between the seats arm rest.

Because it is wider and slightly further away, even if it is the same height as the default armrest, its still much more comfortable.

I think of swinging by the dealer this weekend and having them throw it in

It is just a liability issue for why it "is not for a manual transmission Fit."

I have it install in my M/T Fit and I like it. It doesn't bother me.

So, if you install it on an M/T Fit, and you crash because your arm hit the armrest... don't blame Honda. They did say it wasn't for an M/T.

I'd love to get one of the OEM ones, but I just can't see spending $200 for one honestly. I think I may take a stab at making a custom one, sort of like the iPod holder I did in my fit, which is working AMAZINGLY. I don't really need storage or sliding things, I really do need the arm rest as I am used to it, from every car I have ever had other than my CRX.

After over a year of driving without one, I finally ponied up the cash and bought the OEM armrest. My husband installed it today and it is really fantastic.

It took him about an hour for the install. The videos helped a lot... as did the advice to keep the bolts from sliding under the carpet, LOL. All in all it was pretty straightforward and it looks and feels amazing. I am going to take it for a spin right now!

On second thought and looking at the vids and instructions....this should be a pretty easy install. I'll buy one off the Flea as it is usually about 60 dollars less than what the dealer wants and throw it in.

I love the armrest/console better than the arm bar thingy they have in there now

I wish Bernardi allowed for local pickup as I'm not to far from there but they said shipped parts only....plus I'm not going to add on 6.25% sales tax if I don't have to

Incidentally, since my car is a base model, I have no need for the armrest cover for the driver's seat. (For folks who are removing the fold down armrest.) If anyone would like it, give me a shout.

Ok got around to ordering the center console/armrest....166 bux off of Ebay as they were running a 10% off coupon off of Ebay Motor Parts.

Supposed to be on the 40's tomorrow so may tackle this. I do not have a drill so will pick one up today. I imagine since only drilling into plastic I don't need a 200 dollar DeWalt drill lol. 1/8 ,5/16 drill bits and 19mm hole saw needed to be picked up as well.

Thanks for that info on the drill bit and hole saw sizes as well guys!

Blackberry, I have had mine in for a couple of weeks now and I can't believe how great it is. I absolutely love it.

FWIW, no place around me sells hole saws in metric. But 19mm is 0.748 inches, so a 3/4 inch hole saw works just as well.

Ok..I posted in another thread as I forgot that this one was going too...my bad....

Seems like quite a few folks have had some sort of issue with the ebrake bracket and get it lined up correctly.....thats what has me dead in the water right now Goobers had a good suggestion of putting a screwdriver in the top hole and pushing down for leverage in trying to line up the bottom hole but I want to make sure I don't damage any threads either! I too lost the bottom bolt but luckily I was able to blindly fish it out with a retractable magnet

Just interested in what others have done to finally get it to line up..you do have to put a tremendous amount of pressure on that ebrake cable to get it lined up....I tried for about 2 hours before darkness and frustration made me say uncle

Well, did you get it installed? I am interested in the problems people are having since i am debating whether to have it dealer or self installed.

After asking a dealer how much one cost installed, I am no longer debating! -they want almost $400. Looks like it will be self installed. I would go with the zeta since it looks well made, but I need the flip-up feature of the oem.

Turf, I ended up having the dealer put it in...cost me 94 bucks above and beyond the cost of the arm rest. Not sure I like it though..I may be going back to the oem arm rest...still debating
