Missing body plugs?!
I find that mostly it's lazy techs who do not understand that the plugs perform a function. I read quite a few different PDI instructions last night and many have no plugs, other do but do not mention noise abatement. Today, one of the other issues I found after talking to a couple techs is that the plugs are often removed from the packaging by the people who check in the vehicles. At my dealership the salespeople check in the cars. When some cars have them and others do not, it is easy for the tech to overlook an absent part on a particular model. Another instruction for the Fit that I did not find in other PDI instructions is the update of the PCM with the HDS. I did not find a tech who knew this.
Groan.
maybe some of us dont have them because they fell out.
although all 4 would be a bit of a stretch. lol.
thanks. i suspected it for some kind of restraint.

in my experience so far it's been a noticeable difference, especially on the highway.

OK, I'm back. It could not be simpler. Just pop them in good and make sure they are secure. I did not use any adhesive. It should take only a few seconds each. You'll have to get down on the ground (or raise the car). Having a flashlight handy would not hurt. But I can't imagine taking it to the dealer for this unless you are going in for something else anyway.
Hope that helps.

Dan, I just got mine in the mail this second and they are sitting on my desk. Since you ask, let me go downstairs and see for you ....

. I'm planning to put mine in this weekend, assuming I get them tomorrow.Did you notice any difference in road noise?
I have not driven the car since the install so I can't say yet.
I think you know more than 'nothin!'

Thanks a bunch for the info. I could justify a trip to the dealer if combining it with the MPG fix. But I was gonna do that in the spring, if at all. I think I'll have them mail them out to me. I hope they make some difference. I don't think the noise is horrible, but if these little suckers help the cause then beautiful thing. Thanks again.

Btw- if you're under there looking around, MUCH larger holes and gaps can be found in the vacinity of these plugs. Take a good look- it makes the body plug holes look like nothing. I spotted them when looking for the body plug holes.
