Same thing happened to me. What a piece of garbage that plastic is!!!! It scratches even with plastic cleaner.

I was out today, and decided to glance at a GE Sport's dash. Judging from that and the repair link Ein provided, regardless of whether the plastic is curved or not I'll bet flat glass replacements would work, and probably look just as good as the cheap plastic originals, curved face or not.

I may have a few made when I get my Fit. I'll let this thread know the results if I do. I'll be the guinea pig, what the heck! Having plain, thin, small circles of glass cut is pretty cheap these days. If it works then I guess it will have been worth the effort.

Myself and few here already replaced the lens due to scratches.
The part itself is $12.

I can't get the link to work.

Is this the same part, but it doesn't show the lense, just the whole panel.

There is another option that may not be as bad. Any large plastics fabrication business could probably duplicate those curved pieces using Lexan, for fairly cheap. (Lexan is cheap now in cuts under 1/4 inch... it's that "bulletproof" stuff) I have a friend who owns a fab place... I'll ask him about it, just out of curiosity.

let us know how it goes. that would be a pretty sweet mod.

mine got really scratched by the detail guy who tried to wipe up over-spray and then me. It was then replaced under warranty and now I see that the tech who installed it........apparently can't seem to wear latex gloves when doing work of this sort! Now, i have a nice fingerprint smudge on the left pod's outer most edge but on the INSIDE of the darn plastic lens!! arrgghhh!!!! Now, instead of having them clean it and just scratch it (even with my eyeglass' cleaning cloth- or a microfibre cloth) i can clean it off! yay!....
