Looks good connor55.... been following your progress for a little while now.

Can't wait for your complete detailed DIY.... I kinda want it just for that side mirror/rear defog logo... will go great with my heated mirrors when I install them.

Thats a single or dual zone climate control?

Thanks, I can't wait to do this either! I already have the heated mirrors, so i have the button with the mirror sign on my manual switch, and it works out perfectly with this jazz hybrid one.

Will get it started as soon as the rest of the parts arrive.

It's a single zone climate just like the current one. All the air direction/function options are the same except its far more precise and automated. Plus it looks 10x better than our stock controls.

Oh baby!! That's sexy!

Go Connor Go!

sorry to keep you guys hanging.. if people were better at replying to emails, this probably wouldve been done by now.

The only thing i need from a junkyard now is the wire harness for this thing.

I am going to suck it up and buy the motors/ blower unit brand new. The sensors can actually be purchased from a Us honda dealer, as the CRZ uses the same parts. Plus the sensors cost way less on this side of the pond.

There was also a single lever that i needed as well, it was part of the heater unit. the only way to get that new would be to buy a whole heater unit.. 500 bucks just to get a small lever. Thankfully, gold-civic was nice enough to make a mold of the lever in his car and send it to me. Ill make a few copies of the lever with the materials i have on me. Anyone else wanting to do this in the future can pay me the shipping and ill send an extra lever copy to them.

im hoping itll be done in about a month!

pocky 05-29-2013 08:22 PM

You know, I spotted the Fit EV this past weekend and thought about you. I wanted to steal that car. LOL

Oh and I'll take a copy of that lever when you get them made.

connor55 06-04-2013 02:27 PM

Lol, it would be so much easier to just steal.

Good news, I've made a few lever copies already. Also, the wire harnesses and sensors from the junkyard are finally together and ready to order.

Once the order is finalized, I can go ahead and buy the remaining parts from lings.

Only thing I need from lings are the 3 servos, and the heater blower without the actual blower fan. Roughly 500 bucks worth of stuff.

Which brings the total cost of parts to just about 1000.

The few remaining parts have just been purchased from lings. I will have ALL of the parts needed for the conversion in 2 weeks and will begin right away.

I am thinking of switching to the EV and that is one of the nice upgrades in it.

connor55 06-27-2013 09:36 AM

I now have the junkyard parts, and will be receiving my lings Honda parts today. I might be able to do the conversion this weekend. Will get pics up later for a little preview of the DIY.
