THANK YOU!!!

Just got these on my GE and they ride very smooth. The shop owner said that they seemed very high quality as they were very balanced... with 2 of them showing "zeroed out" on the spin-balance machine.

I hope I can get over 30k on these unlike the stock Dunlops

For the Fit Sport: 205/50/16 is nice if you want to go way wider than stock (185/55/16) but I want a tire that is only slightly wider, AND a little taller (I want the car an inch higher so the nose doesn't scrape on uneven road surfaces). I don't mind if the speed/odometer is slightly off. When the time comes I think that 195/55/16 will look and ride better. The stock ones look dinky.

Just (this morning) installed Michelin Pilot Exalto AS in 205/50-16. Tire fit is virtually undetectable from the original 185/55's. I haven't taken pics but if anything the naked eye may notice the tire is a tiny bit wider and and the sidewallis a very tiny bit lower. Just drove arond town in a thunderstorm with off and on deluge and the tires stick. These tires at pre break-in are a bit to sensitive to input and tend to oversteer because of being used to the crappy Bridgestones (OEM) and the new "grabbiness" of the Michelin's. It takes very minute correction to keep it straight versus the old worn out tires. I think after the new tires break-in and I get used to them they will be fine. The road noise is reduced from the very audible "thin tires on gravel" sound to just a bit of rumble attributable to the suspension. Low profile tires have (necessarily) stiff sidewalls so the marshmallow ride is not 'gonna be there but they are much more comfortable than the old Bridgestones were even when new. phasfit

14 Aug 11: Just an update on the Michelin Pilot Exalto AS: Car is very solid and confidence inspiring: the ride is greatly improved. Noise is down and the car feels like it is on rails. Lovin' these new shoes!!!!!

I am glad those worked out for you. My 205 Bridgestone Blizzaks felt like the car was swaying around corners and didnt react nearly as fast.

I've noticed that winter specific tires have lower speed ratings. Not all but most. Could be they don't see the temperatures and speeds that summer tires do and consequently the construction "may be" a tad on the soft side for traction reasons which could lead to the "squirming" ? Just and observation, not a hard fact. phasfit

It could be. I had the same issue when I went with a new set of yoks. I went back to the 185s after having the 205s because it felt like I was riding on a pillow and the car was all over the place. Maybe I am just that picky and notice everything.
