205/50r16 on 16x6.5 rims. Seems perfect for daily driving and still enough sidewall to protect the rims from potholes and rocks. Not the tire though, after the one rock (cut the apex a little too far...) I needed a new tire and alignment, no rim damage though.

Same here. Closest you can get to the stock circumference.

If you are having clearance issues, maybe consider a 195/50. Only a tiny bit smaller that the 205/50.

I have 205/50/16 tires, and they look god to me.

Now, here are two things that came to mind.

1) I would think that 205/45/16 would look "too small."

2) it's almost an inch in diameter smaller (actually 3/4"), is it actually visually noticeable? Your odometer and speedometer will notice by 3.5%.

I am on 205/45-16 as that is what came with the wheels. Supposedly 3% smaller.

yes, unless your car is lowered considerably it can appear too small.

Same tires on 16x7+40 rims with same drop (had to pull my fenders just a touch i the front to clear on big bumps):

Those 205/50/R16's look so much better than the stock Dunlops. I'm going to have to start taking every winding back road I can to wear out the factory tires faster so I can justify replacing them!
