Digital Fit floormat install

I'm interested in getting the Digital Fit floormats for a 2010 Fit Sport. From what I see here they sound great. What I can't figure out from the website is if you need to have the floor mat hooks installed on the driver's side in order to use this mat. I don't have the hooks and would rather not install them.

** Update **

I bought the Digital Fit floormats for the front and got them today. A nice snug fit. Not perfect, but impressively close. As noted by others, I didn't need the hooks for the driver's mat. They look great! I'm inclined to order the one for the back now.

My weathertech floorliner's(all 3 of them)didn't fit flush on both side's on driver side so I used velcro(heavyduty) on plastic side with no more fitment issue's and is still very easy too remove and clean. As far as the carpeted side I just leaned a weight(Dumbell/Kettlebell)againest it for afew night's and seem's to be FINALLY getting into place.^^No you don't NEED the floor clip's,but they do help the liner's not side as much(I installed the clip's and they are VERY easy to do).Just alittle extra safety.

Have these in the wife's 2010 Grand Caravan, and they're brilliant - especially for the back in the minivan, where 3 boys under age 7 roam wild.

Ordered mine for the new (2010) fit on Monday, and they shipped today, with a Friday delivery date!

(For the van, I think it took about 10 days for them to ship)

Are the clips on the Weathertechs in the same place as the installed factory clips?

'11 Fit Sports now come with factory carpet floor mats, which are nice-looking - but aren't going to cut it given my experience with my '10 Fit (which had the rubber Honda all-seasons which did not wear well).

The existence of these preinstalled mats on the '11 means it has the floor retainer clips installed already. The Weathertechs look like they have lumps to accomodate them, but are they in the same place? The standard retainer clips are parallel but the marks on the Weathertechs look offset.

Currently I have clear matting over the carpet mat 'til I get my Weathertechs which I ordered this weekend. It wasn't meant to be permanent and since the matting wasn't made for a car it is slippery but hopefully saving some friction to the flimsy rugs...

I'd like to get these if it does not involve having to install the hooks...looks like a lot of people are just using velcro?

You don't need any anchors for these mats they fit inside the footwell tightly.

I think folks are using the vlecro to hold the side tight so there is no gap in it.

The factory rear all weather mats are actually nicer and cover more of the floor than the weathertech rear mat.

Please post pics!

Did you order them directly from Weathertech? The fitment issues others described in the thread aren't present in the 2012 Fit?

Thanks!

I ordered them directly from WeatherTech, it took almost 2 weeks. They say it's a custom item that they don't stock and they make them when ordered. Since I haven't seen ones that don't fit I'm not sure of the fitment problems others are having. There are no gaps on any of the sides.

I ordered mine from Weathertech in Dec. and they came in just over a week. They charge something like $17 for shipping though, and after I ordered them I saw one of the online Honda dealers selling them with free shipping =(. Just something to look out for.
I too have the gap on the drivers side, and the mats do slide forward some. I put one 3m velcro strip but it is not strong enough, will have to put a few more soon. Still a good purchase imo compared to the oem all weathers.

I have 2012 Sport MT. I ordered from Handa.com and the mats came in like 2 days with free shipping. There is a small gap but not a dealbreaker for me. Glad I got them.

I ordered the front mats only from Handa this past summer for my 2010 Fit. Fast & free shipping
The gap is no biggie & hardly noticeable to me either and the mats do not slide.

Man, I wish I could afford the Weathertech Digital Fit floor mats. Right now I'm making due with a pair of cheapies I got from the local Pep Boys.

Are there any floor mat manufacturers that make floor mats every bit as good, or better than, Weathertech? And cheaper to boot??

*Shrug* Oh well. You buy what you can afford, right?
